Bindi gets a lot of matts in his “underfur” by the tail and legs area. He gets really cranky because they are impossible to work out and I sort of have to pull them out with a comb (gently, but still…ouch). I was thinking rubbing a bit of mineral oil on the matted area before combing? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I’m so stupid. I never thought of clipping the area. Maybe I will try that.

I will have to get some good clipping scissors, I doubt he will tolerate my horse’s electric clippers, although that would make it easy!!!

I think the mineral oil might help. I also have a bun who gets matted hair around her feet, some of them are so compact that there is no way I can work them out so I clip them. But for little tangles the mineral oil might work. We used this on my sister when she got gum stuck in her hair while she was sleeping and it really helped then.

I just bought the furminator today….based on the feedback on this site.  I love it!  I think it’s truly amazing & very easy to use.  You might want to make the investment, well worth it.
