I was wondering if dried organic papaya (no sugar added of course) would be a suitable treat for rabbits in small pieces. I know that BB has papaya tablets available so I was just wondering if this would be something that would be safe or another type of dried organic fruit? I have a 15 year old brother in the house and whenever I buy fresh fruit like bananas or apples for me and for sharing a peice or two with Smudge… or any food… it goes missing within a day, however dried fruit could be hidden away lol. Anyways just wondering but if it’s not good for buns then I definately will not try it. I already hide some raisins away I was just wondering if there was a variety that could be eaten. If not rasins will suffice for a little sweet treat. Thank goodness the boy doesnt like salad…. at least that gets left for Smudge!

I buy SunSeed Papaya treats for my rabbits and it’s 100% dried papaya so yes, papaya is a great treat for them in small quantities, and if your gonna go organic that’s even better. It’s great because it’s dried so it will last a long time. It is thought to reduce hairballs in the stomach as well. My 3 bunnies go nuts for the stuff.

Drid papaya is O.K. for your rabbit, the only caution is that fruit, when dried, the sugar content shoots up exponentially. So give very sparingly and something I know my two like are the “Just Fruit” brand products as well.
