I ordered the wrong papaya treats for the rabbits off of Drs. Fosters and smiths. I ordered the bird papaya’s instead of the small animal ones the ingredients are the same, I was wondering if they are any different and if I can feed them or not.

Was it the 1 lb bag of diced papaya? If it was, there is no difference. =)

Sounds OK to me if you have already compared the ingredients. Unless there’s something added to make it taste better to birds, and I can’t imagine what that could be, i doubt it’s a problem because birds have even smaller tummies than bunnies so it probably is the same, but less. Check out the weight per serving too.

Yes it was the 1lb of diced papaya. The ingredients say 100% dehydrated papaya for both. I didn’t think there was a difference thanks

The only other thing I could possible think of is the size of the pieces. If they are bigger you can just cut them down, and if they are smaller…then even better!

BB:Not sure how big the small animal ones normally are because this is the first time I have had them. But they look like a good size. Thanks.
RP: Couldn’t find a weight per serving on the package.

Like others have mentioned they will be fine to feed your bunny.  I buy dried fruit for humans (Craisins and Welch’s dried fruit mix) for the bunnies and my parrot all the time.  I cut the pieces up with kitchen scissors to make the pieces smaller if I give them when they are out and running around.  Bunnies are like toddlers- they don’t understand that one piece cut into 4 pieces is the same amount.  When my bunnies are out we are usually watching TV and they know to come and keep checking to see if we have treats for them- helps with the round up at the end of the night.

Griff is so big, mellow and goofy he will take pieces of fruit that we hold between our lips- and his whiskers tickle!  And he will do it to anyone- even someone that has come to our house for the first time.  The other bunnies aren’t so trusting.
