Hi I wonder if anyone can help my rabbit is 2 years old she has dental disease  but is on metacam for pain relief, she’s always running about quite energetic and eating all her Pellets and vegetables and lately her poo has been looking really healthy, today she’s also had healthy poo but just now I saw a poo she’d done  and it has some orange coloured mucus in it that were sort of little ball shaped ,she’s had mucus in her poo in the past but it’s never been coloured, does anyone know what this is ?

Did she eat anything with carotenoid pigments? Carrots, dark leafy greens (kale, collard greens), etc.? Mucus can happen sometimes, although it is often a sign of inflammation in the GI tract.

Hi thank you for your reply, yes she had quite a lot of carrot yesterday I also introduced her to pak Choi which she’s never tried before I don’t know if the combination of the two may have upset her stomach, but she’s been very energetic today still eating and trying to get any vegetables of me as per usual her poos have been very healthy too so I’m not to sure what the issue could be?

She could have just had a little bit of an upset. If she seems fine now, then I would just keep an eye out for any additional mucus.
