         Hi there!

First time poster so bear with me!
I have been a bunny mummy for 2 years now and have two bunnies, Dory and Doug. Doug is older, he is 2 and I wanted to get him a friend, so we set out to find a girl mate for him, unfortunately “she” was only a baby at the time and was sexed wrong by the rehoming centre and turned out to be a boy! Dory is nearly 1 now.

I am fully aware that two boys, especially so young, are harder to bond but I attempted it a few times before changing my tactic to setting up their cages next to one another. Doug is very territorial and does not like Dory anywhere near his cage, unfortunately, over this time, Dory has pretty much bonded with Doug, attempting to groom him through the cage and flopping next to him wherever he can (even occasionally escaping his pen to jump in with Doug despite Doug attacking him!

The attacks initially were a lot worse, Dory even had to see the vet at one point, but now they arent so bad, but Doug is still clearly not happy.

I am concerned because they have to go into a boarding house for a week over the summer and I dont know how well Dory will get on if he cant see Doug!

        Any tips?

        Much appreciated!

        Charli

          Are they neutered at all?

I second Monkeybun’s question. Neutering will bring down the aggressiveness.

Any sort of bonding, any gender to another gender is hard IMO.
