I have a lovely pair of rescue bunnies, Stuart who I’ve had since March 2016 and Dot who I’ve had since April 2016. I successfully bonded them and they love each other. They roam free and sleep together under my bed. They go outside daily and do most things together. HOWEVER, a few days ago my parents started decorating their bedroom and rearranged the layout. They’ve both been in to explore, but to my horror Stu slept under my parents bed last night, all night leaving Dot all alone in my room all night. She’s never been alone ll night in the 18 months I’ve had her.

The obvious answer to this is to shut my door to keep them both in, or shut my parents door to keep Stu out. Problem is, they don’t cope well woth confinement and will scratch and knaw and dig at either door all night if they feel like it. Also they like to wander the house at the crack of dawn so need to get out.

I’m basically worried that this behaviour might damage their bond and upset Dottie.

Anyone else experienced this weirdness? Any any tips or ideas welcome!!

Not a problem Bonded bunnies dont need to be together 24/7. Its perfectly fine if they choose to sleep apart from one another.

I know I like to sleep apart from my husband once in a while when he is being extra annoying acting like a 8yo &bugging me or when he’s taking up the whole bed.. and I’d say we’re pretty bonded still ? but really they will be fine. you will see they will probably sleep apart on and off
