        Hello all:

I found homes for 4 of the bunnies and told everyone that if it doesn’t work out to return them to me.  Well one bunny was brought back last night.  His name is Bubba (which is the name that we had given him)  The biggest one of all.  When we to the house to get him he was terriifed.  (He was not abused he just was not given a lot of attention)   He had about 4 big knots in his mane I burshed him and cut them out.  He seems to be more comfortable.

When he got home I left him in his cage for awhile.  Oreo (mum) and his two brothers remembered him and he remebered them as well.  All is well this morning.  They are running and jumping all over the place.  It gets out of hand some time.  They are louder then my 2 kids.

Does any one know of a website for an indoor hutch.  I saw one at Animal Firends in Pittsburgh but some one  built it.  I would need three seperate floors.  Currently I have 4 seperate cages (mum not caged)  that are stacked like bunk beds in my living room.   If anymore bunnies come back I will need get rid of my livingroom furniture (lol)

What about making one out of NIC cubes?  That way you could customize it the way that you want and fit it in the living room the way you need it to .  You could do different floors with those and have a door on each floor of course so that you could get each bunny in and out.  Can they not be bonded?  I just worry with the ones that are not on the lower floor how they would easily get in and out from their cage?  What about making a NIC condo with three next to each other with them each having part of the bottom and part of the top?  It would depend on how much room you have of course but that way they’d all be able to get in and out on their own.

Yup – a NIC condo would be your perfect and inexpensive solution. Check out Cool Rabbitats under the “bunny info” section for inspiration….

could you empty out a stretch of wall in your house? let’s say it was two NIC cubes deep, 12 NIC cubes long and two stories high. each bun would get a 3x2x2 grid cage. the total space you would need would be 14 feet long by about 2.5 feet wide. each bun could have a door leading out so they could come and go as they pleased.

I found the cage that I am going to make out of the cubes.  I am limited on the length but not the height.  Thank you so much

I was going to suggest a NIC condo as well.  Just promise you’ll post pics when it’s done.  I’m also guessing that I need to stop whining about the cost of Leo’s neuter, since you might just have 3 neuters to pay for  I’m very glad that they took advantage of your “return policy”.  I’ve always had the same policy for my fosters & adoptees.  No one has ever brought one back, which makes me think that statistically, they were too embarassed or something.  So i’m just so glad that they believed you or felt ok w/ it.

I am so sorry that Bubba was returned but am glad that the person took you up on your offer rather than dumping him somewhere. I too was going to suggest a NIC condo built to your floorplan and specs.
