So, I had my first bun (Honey) for about a year and a half before getting him a buddy! So, I get Thumper and they get along fantastic, it was love at first sight. I got Honey from a neighbor of mine and had no interactions with humans other than myself, I then got Thumper from a pet store (I know I shouldn’t support them but I just had a feeling about him) and he and Honey would die for each other. The thing is, Thumper doesn’t care too much for me. He lets me pat his head when I give them breakfast but other than that he shuns me the rest of the day.

I’ve tried everything I did with Honey (laying on the floor still, giving treats for good behavior, etc) but he just don’t care to be my friend. While Honey is still super sweet and loving. Thumper is the dominate of the two, so I assume that has something to do with it? Do any of you have advice on how to get Thumper and I closer? I’d love to have two buns that love me. I should also mention, I’m obviously their main caregiver, so I have to do all the non fun things like clip their nails, brush their hair, and take them to the vet. While my boyfriend and Thumper are pretty tight (because he just comes in to give treats every once in a while) How do I win over Thumpers heart? Or is this just the relationship we are going to have forever?

(Note: I would never get rid of him, I will always have him for Honey’s sake, it’s just frustrating to care for a rabbit who wouldn’t care if I was alive or not lol I guess I’ve just been so spoiled with Honey’s affection…)

        Hop on!

He lets you pet him, he trusts you, he takes food you offer…. Sounds like you do have his heart Many bunnies are very independent. Thumper is just one of those buns

Hah, I know the feeling! My Bombur demands cuddles/pets once a month at the absolute most. He doesnt care for human attention very much, but shows his love in other ways instead
