OMG 3 RABBITS

HELP!!!!    and then there were 3. gosh wehre to put them all. Itty Bitty is a boy so can’t call him Feda cuz thats a girls name. he squeezes thru the xpen slot to fight with whoever. and thru the baby gate   the new little lionhead has a huge mane is 1 month younger and all males oh gee where to put them all. I guess Asad in teh bathroom til I cn get him a cage Itty Bitty where he was in kitchen/living room area and cotton well we know where he goes.    gosh the new one is thumpy and kind of skittish but settling down. geeeesh. where to hide all this next year for 1 month when inspections are done well I got a year to figure it out. cotton is going what is this MOOOOOOOM!!!!! I think he can get along with the Asad cuz he is real submissive when attacked by IB

I’m kinda confused. Last week your hubby insisted you give up Itty Bitty because it was too hard on your back.

Today you have a 3rd? I thought I read you mentioning that he was thinking of getting another, but I thought I hadn’t read it right. Did he get this one? Did you rescue him? Are you just fostering before finding a new home for him? I’m really concerned about your back.

well he liked the big big mane on the new one. and he was upset with the barracades in teh bedroom that hurt my back getting set up and ti didnt’ work then putting it away again. geesh. well. hubby said can give them up if I want to .  well IB has  big personality he runs up to your feet and bumps you when we are walking around then the skittish one is so gorgeous I hate to rehome IB he said he can bring the new one back and get his $ back. Oh I just don’t know. 1 is so much easier. I don’t know what to do. He was upset about my back then knows how much I got attached to IB already. He wanted the big maned one cuz he knows I always wanted oen like that and could show it maybe. I don’t know.

the inspections I live in housing and they send a letter telling us the date and so forth my neighbor told me that. I can hide them in the closet that day I guess. this all sounds so weird. now. lol. I have to think about all this.  and sending the big maned one back or waht.  he is so gorgeous.

Are the rabbits not allowed in your housing? I don’t think that keeping them in a closet is a good idea at all. Also I would be concerned for you if something happened that they found out you had 3 animals that are not allowed. You could be evicted or you will have to find a place for your rabbits.

I am allowed 1. and you are rigth. hubby is fed up with not having room again to move and the poop wars going on now. he wants the big maned one but I am not parting with my cotton never he was here long time with me he cannot go so hubby said ok okok. and will bring the other 2 back tomorrow. IB will be found a good home  and ASAD will be refunded adn a chance for good home geeej I am so tired I cleaned today their litterboxes phew. I need to vacuum again and mop phew. maybe thursday.   awe little cotton eating his lettuce. awe how cute. yes my back can’t take all this and this was so stupid I want to give them good homes all the bunnies like my Mom said I would have 100 if I could. I got a big heart but we gotta go with our limits unfortunately.   I can’t save them all. Other people can actually provide them with good homes too not just me. as is apparant here on bb.

Just having Cotton is adequate for you K … it is nice to have bunnies running around galore, but being realistic one bunny for you is 1.  In your best interests; particularly with your back etc;  2. Getting bunnies and them giving them back is unfair;  3.  More stress for you and hubby; 4. I know you are trying to do the right thing, but in this case it is not right.

Cotton was much happier and content on his own … not all bunnies want other bunnies around and it is extremely hard work as you have found out.

I hope you are ok … Just Cotton and You (and of course hubby lol).  You are doing the right thing here …

I think Dawn said it well, with the compassion we all feel for you in wanting more bunnies because that’s how you would live given a choice, but having to stay within your limitations. I’m a bit surprised at your husband for adding the 3rd to the situation, but am very relieved he’s bringing him back quickly before you get attached. I’m very, very sorry to hear about Itty Bitty, since he has been through so much upheaval in his little life. If you do let him go too, then you’ve thought through your ability to care for both he and Cotton. You are definitely happy and get around more easily when it’s only Cotton.

Do what’s best for Itty Bitty however you can at this point. It’s a hard choice.

Re: house inspection – you could make an appointment with the vet for the same day and take Cotton in for a check-up, trim, exam or boarding overnight. Then just clean the area and leave it. I’ve been in apartments with Spockie and always told them I had him – and they wrote him into the lease with no extra charge. If they know it’s a caged animal that makes no noise, they don’t really care. But it’s not housing like yours so I don’t know their policy. So if it’s clean and neat, is it a problem?

I totally understand you wanting another animal but I am very concerned about poor Itty Bitty getting shifted back and forth.  One day you want him the next day you don’t.  I think you need to make a decision and stick with it.  It can’t be good for you or the poor little bun to go through all this shuffling.

I understand your wanting more bunnies too but I agree with everyone and I think you know in your heart that just having Cotton is best for you and since you are only allowed 1 pet per your lease then you are just best to have little Cotton.

It will be best for your health too and also you don’t have to worry about inspections, etc…having more than the allowed pets – that type of stuff is stressful beyond belief and you don’t need that kind of stress :~)

i’m sorry to hear how stressed out you are! that’s alot of bunnies, especially since you were having issues with just the two. maybe if you are able to move into a bigger home at some point you can have more… but i think two is more than enough for you right now. when Itty Bitty is neutered, you might be able to bond him to Cotton, but it will take some time.

yeah was a dumb thing to do  had 1 in bathroom 1 in kitchen hallway living room and cotton owns the living room. and marking all over they can’t help it I know. so I did the dirty deed was crying too. however they said a lady had called and wanted them to call her when they got a lionhead and the other 2 were on hold and they will I sure hope n pray go to excellent homes.  poor things. then I come home after lunch washing the 2 rugs to get their odor off swept vac mopped with vinegar and hubby is sleepign I vac anyway I asked for help he said later rest. right now. well I did the kitchen/living room when he gets up he has the bedroom/bathroom lol. yes it is just too much. and cotton is happy I think he knows they are gone he came and looked I had to clean cage and fold it up and the litterbox too I soaked it. they get stuck on yellow spots and cleaned cottons house. he has all these neat toys to himself now. and we were playing peeky boo. I want to take him out to the river/dock today but is sooooo windy 25 mph with gusts of 31 I haven’t seen that tree in my window stop dancing yet. and we have room to walk agian and the place where we pray we can get to it comfortably. and the 2 xpens 1 will go around my computer and the other in the bedroom door perhaps. I got rid of that baby rail thing kept falling down bang real loud making us all jump or scream. the baby bed rail out it goes. good riddance did its job time for it to move out. lol. cotton came to inspect where they used to be and guess waht he didn’t mark phew. relief. Thank You Cotton Good Boy!!!!

oh I learned recently too that my med 1 of them teh ins. doesn’t want to cover anymore omg. noooo and there is no generic for that kind of med yet. oh gosh. my Dr. won’t write another script for a diff kind either she is supposed to call ins. co. and get it authorized but may not be able to sway the ins. co. great. she couldn’t sway them on the patches for pain and now my anti spasm stuff oh great. I was feeling it last nite too I am taking less right now just in case I lose them . dang. yeah they always cuttin back and there goes our meds dumb thing to do anyway

hubby and I have learned a lesson from all this and is time to move on much as I hate to love the buns. but yes my health. his too. sooo… yes is good thing that I am back down to 1. won’t do that again. lol.

aw BT, sorry it’s all going so rough for you, I know how much time you have to spend cleaning after the bunnies. I don’t know what meds you’re taking, but you might check Canada Pharmacy. Sometimes when the pharmacies here tell you there is no generic, they mean there is no generic that they sell.

My son has to take 2 expensive seizure medications ($750 a month), but now we go through Canada Pharmacy and get them for less than half that, and the last 3 years switched over to a generic they offer for each (made in Germany) with no problem, for only $150 per month. I know there are some shady online pharmacies out there, but this one is very thorough, their doctor and pharmacist talked to our neurologist and myself before filling the prescriptions, and check in with me everytime we order to make sure I understand how he’s to take it and what to watch for.

My insurance won’t cover drugs from Canada, but we come out better ordering from there anyway.

You need to make sure your husband knows that Cotton could get sick from him bringing other rabbits into your home- especially pet store rabbits.  If they allow bunnies to be purchased and then returned- who knows what viral, respiratory or skin diseases they could have been exposed to.  You can not adequately quarantine new bunnies in a small apartment- sometimes just sharing the same ventilation, or common living areas, or even you on your hands, clothes, shoes, socks can transfer something to Cotton.

It sounds as though he is just trying to be nice to you and buy you things to make you happy- but just let him know that he and Cotton are your life. More bunnies are not going to make you any healthier and happier.  Maybe you can come up with something “small” that he can give you to cheer you up when you are down- your favorite candy bar, a rose for you and Cotton to share, a pair of socks with bunnies on them.  Basically just something to make you smile but does not add to your worries.
