I am in the bedroom with Olly most of the time to get a good connection on the internet and we don’t watch TV, so we don’t bother with the lounge, also in this room I’m closer to the bathroom and main door because as some of you know I’m visually impaired.
I do eat my meals the same time as Olly, this was to stop him from begging, he started a few weeks ago, so I remembered we had a dog that begged so he got fed the same time as us, so I thought it would work with Olly, it did but now I can be opening a box of tissues and he is giving me the ‘Give me look.’ through his pen, I have a kettle in my bedroom and if I go to get a teabag he is sort of ‘That for me Mummy?’ and gets excited.
Sometimes after I have had a shower and walk in with my creams and stuff he is rattling his bars and giving me the ‘I’m here what you got me?’ Look.
Sometimes after I have been to visit the big human litter tray and come back he is there up at his bars in his begging position.
Is there anything I can do to stop him from begging, if I say no he gives me the ‘Please Mummy’ look and blows kisses.
I did have a fridge in my room and every time I opened the door he was at his playpen bars.
Olly does do a lot for me and he gets treats every 2 weeks on payday and he has worked out that when I go to check my bank account online and my money is there and as soon as I pick up my bag from under my desk, I turn round and he is looking at my guide cane because he knows I’m going to get him some treats, this part I don’t mind because I think it’s sweet.
But what can I do about the begging?
