Today my two rabbits Ollie and Tama (fondly known as Bun-bun) met for the first time. They were both neutered almost two months ago and have been housed cage by cage since then. There was never any issue with them being near eachother, so I felt brave enough today for them to have their first playdate!

After preparing, they were both placed in the bath tub, where they hopped around for a bit. Within the first few minutes, they were sniffing eachother. After a few rounds of circling nose to bum, and a bit of mounting by Ollie, they both decided to lay down at the end of the tub. And CUDDLE! There was even some grooming going on, it was adorable

They stayed together for around an hour, while I did a bit of brushing for both of them (who are shedding out their winter coats like mad!)

After being soooo worried about them meeting, I am so glad that it went well today! Here’s to hoping that the next few weeks go as smoothly! I’ll keep everyone updated!

Continued bonding vibes – that does sound like a good start.

That is awesome to hear Alaizabelle! I just posted something a couple of days regarding this. My buns are caged next to each other and never had problems but they are not spayed and neutered yet. I hope it will go as great as your Ollie and Tama once their surgery is complete!!

That’s a great first date! Sounds like they hit it off!
