        Hello again,

        So Sweet pea got into Buzz’s cage when it was play time – I let them in each other’s cages to get the scent of each other before I  start the bonding process… and there was some greens that I needed to get out of buzz’s cage from the morning  but didn’t grab em until I realized Sweet Pea already found em and starting eating them – it was just 2 strips of Dandelion greens- but they were like 6-7 hours old- and this morning she had a lot of diarrhea- this is the only thing different in her diet from yesterday besides a couple extra treat pellets…. do you think the Diarrhea is from the 2 possibly? She was fine this morning – not lethargic or anything…..

        Just wondering – of course if it worsens for any reason I’ll consult the vet if needed

        AND question #2

        I am going to go to the pet store to purchase some different types of Hay for Buzz Light year since he seems to rarely eat the timothy hay – is there any hay i SHOULD NOT buy and stay away from??

         I want the fiber to help his stomach and I have read that some people said some hays  can do more bad then good for rabbits- just want to be sure….

        thanks alot!

        Jena

          I don’t think 6 to 7 hours is old if it was fresh that morning. What do you mean by diarrhea? Rabbits don’t normally have diarrhea – was it just extra cecals?

          I would stay away from alfalfa hay.

            I Can’t remember the exact time she ate it- but it was definitely at least 7 hours old – 9 at the most… I mean I know I would eat greens that have been out all day long like that. I meant to remove it when I got home from work but I let buzz out for playtime so I knew he wouldnt eat it- but then forgot it was still in there when Sweetpea went in there.
            If it was cecals it was thick mush that was jsut smeared everywhere on the floor in 3-4 spots of her cage. I have never seen her normal cecals since she I adopted her. I mean there was no form to it at all.. so I just thought it was Diahrrea – I suppose it could be mushy liquidy cecals.. but when I got home from work today – there was no more and there were about 20-25 normal poop pellets.

            Alfalfa= no
            Thanks!

              I agree with Sarita that it’s probably not because they were old. I keep veggies in my fridge up to 10 days and they’re fine. Sometimes my bun will leave a leaf of lettuce all day and finish it off in the evening; no biggie. Greens aren’t a food that really “goes bad” the way that meat might. It will just become limp and less appetizing over the course of a day.

              It seems to me like they are just cecals. If the buns steps in them and mushes them, they would absolutely be smeared on the floor. Have you fed her anything sweet lately? Sometimes my bun will leave a few cecals if he gets any extra treats.

                Hmmm – well that makes me feel better about the greens- I thought I had let her eat stale/poison-like greens since I assumed they were really bad when left out like that- the only thing I could think of was I gave her like 8-12 extra pellets at night time as a snack…. usually i give her a couple before I go to bed – perhaps I gave her more than she was used to— not sure if thats it but that is the only thing different diet wise- beside the green thing….

                She is totally fine today- ate her 1/8 cup of pellets, her heaping plate of greens, and she munched on hay all day – and played like crazy – so I suppose no worries.
                Thanks guys
