Okay so I just woke up this morning and found Levi with a large pee stain on his side….Then I saw another post about bunny bathing and it mentioned that the fastidious groomers that they are dont really need baths, but I am hoping that in this case it might be alright…

I had mentioned in a previous post about the dominance thing is peeing a way of saying I want to be alpha bunny?

The craziness continues I have included a photo of poor Levi and Olaf…The perpeetrator

Definitely bathe him in this case! Do you need bathing tips?

I took a wet washcloth and kind of wet him then i dabbed at it with clean water, followed by a brushing. It seems pretty clean, I didnt want to use soap cause i thought it might irritate him. hopefully that is ok. If there is more extensive cleaning I should do, Just let me know. Thanks again

Yes, boy bunnies definitely spray each other when in alpha male competition. I adopted a young English spot who’s neighbor had peed on him and it took a couple months for him to finally molt all of the peed on fur off, because once it dries it is often to hard to get out. If you can’t get it out, I’d actually just recommend letting them molt it off. It sounds like they could be fighting when you aren’t around because as far as I know, bonded pairs of bunnies do not pee on each other. You might need to start keeping a closer eye and make sure neither has injuries.

When I was trying to bond Frisco and Pepper, she had yellowish-brown spots all over her from his….er…attempts at affection.  He even sparayed her head!  Yeah – that didn’t go over well…..

Yeah, I have been watching them like crazy but they are not fighting and it seems that it was an isolated incident. I am waiting on the arrival of a large excercise pen that I will be adding to their current cage to expand their space hopefully it will come soon, along with the new pellets. I don’t know if the larger space will make it that much better. Either way they are seemingly happy, and I am home almost all the time and they dont seem to fight. I also check them over to make sure that they dont have any bite marks or anything like that. Aside from the one pee incident, and Levi mounting Olaf on a regular basis, they spend all their time together and they cuddle constantly and they both groom eachother. So it seems like it is alright…
