Jenner is a boy. Not a girl. Meaning, I have a fixed boy and an unfixed boy.

I don’t know what compelled me to look tonight, but I did, and Jenner’s “parts” didn’t look quite right to me, so I searched it online and became even more confused by what I saw. Then after two more times of inspecting Jenner, I saw that deep underneath her…his fur are indeed the testicles.

When I got Jenner from the pet store, the guy there said it was a boy after a quick glance (but who believes all pet store employees?). I continued to inspect Jenner every few weeks because I read that it is hard to tell when they’re young. I thought it was a girl because I never saw any testicles. My friend who has a male bunny said it would be really obvious, but Jenner’s are small and hidden under fur.

Now what does this mean for Odom and Jenner??  Jenner has an appointment to get fixed, and then the vet can for sure verify that he is a male, but I am pretty sure what I saw. lol

So…can two fixed males live in harmony?

I’m really upset about this now…I feel so stupid and like such a failure. Now I’ve gone through all of this and put the bunnies through all of this and spent all of this money getting Odom…and now I feel like it won’t work.

They can definitely still bond. I have a pair of girls, and 2 girls are harder than 2 boys usually There are several people on here with pairs of boys as well, so don’t worry just yet

Jenner: That was NOT a fail! You can still bond them!!!

Two fixed males CAN live in harmony. I have two dwarf netherlands who happened to be litter mates and who are both male. They cuddle together, flop and stretch out next to each other, share their veggies and the same food dish. They also play together (pushing apple sticks back and forth between each other and even rolling a cat jingle bell ball back and forth).

You didn’t fail by any means. Small parts are just harder to see and it’s a mistake that I’m sure happens quite a bit and not even in rabbits. I had a friend who thought her cat was a she up until it started spraying because his bits were so small. The only issue I foresee you having after both are fixed and bonded is MAYBE a bit of humping which can be solved with a stuffed animal and a little redirecting.

                  Thanks for the responses everyone.

So Binx, are you saying that they’ll still have an “urge” to hump each other, and this is why you need a stuff animal for them to “use” ?

In a round about way, yes. Zeppo (about once or twice every couple months) gets an urge to starting trying to hump Groucho. We got him a stuffed bunny from the Easter isle last year and has goes to town on it for about a minute then calls it good. He’s never tried humping the people in the house though.

Okay, I will keep on the lookout for cute, cheap stuffed bunnies. lol
They don’t try to chew the stuffed animal?

Some rabbits do chew on stuffed animals. If they do, it’s not safe and you should remove the toy from them. I would recommend getting a baby-safe stuffed toy, one without button eyes that can be chewed off and potentially eaten. It doesn’t have to be a bunny toy, any safe stuffed toy (or a furry slipper) will work just fine.

Thanks for the tip, Beka! Baby toys are always so freakin’ cute and often include bunnies anyway. So that’s a great idea!
