My dad came home early from work today. He let Chacha out.. I think for TOO LONG! He didn’t bring as much toys out as I do.. I don’t know if she did this due to boredom but..

She started chewing a little of the wall

My dad didn’t get mad.. lol. He threw a pillow near her .. he didn’t want to hit her  I told him he can SCHOLD HER, by saying “NO!” but my dad is somewhat of a softie when it comes to these things

He covered the wall with a pillow. She bit a small portion of the wall off.. it looks paintable.

I’ll be moving into a new place soon. I’m going to be limiting her free range at first – to see her reactions and plus I need to bunny proof possible areas!! I need to lay down how much time/space my dad lets her out if he wants to..

What can be done? I mean, if she chews a part of the wall at my next place.. bitter apple? I heard it stops working after a while. Vinegar doesn’t work. She actually enjoys that stuff. Ick. I just hope she doesn’t turn out to be a trouble maker!! I was so upset with her

Well….Eddie began eating the wallpaper in my bathroom but for some reason, he quit after I yelled at him. (that usually wasn’t normal for him.) I think maybe it tasted bad. lol My friend’s rabbit chews on the walls if she gets a chance. It’s just something some rabbits do, I guess. And all you can really do is to somehow rabbit proof and stay on them. You might want to try the bitter apple spray. I have a eucalyptus oil/lemon oil spray that I think Lolli likes cause it’s not phasing her now. lol But it used to deter her and Eddie. I know she doesn’t like bitter or sour foods so I need to pick up some bitter apple spray myself. hehe

I think I read somewhere that someone ended up putting boards up to prevent their rabbit from demolishing the walls. It was the only thing that prevented the rabbit and that’s just cause it blocked the wall. LOL

I should dump that stuff all over my room to stop Bumblebee from bunstructioning it. She’s like the transformer decepticon ….but …the deconstructor !

I really want to rip up all my carpet. Bee gets bored and bunstructs the carpet under my bed. I’ve given up, my carpet is a disaster – especially from when the aquarium dumped 20+ gallons onto it. My dad said I can take it out, but he won’t put down new flooring for me until I don’t have a fishtank or rabbits *grumble grumble*

I bet Chacha was just wondering where you were! Most of my walls are lined with grids …plus the carpet is way more fun to dig in than biting the wall. Indy’s latest adventure has been trying to squeeze behind the fishtank to play in the all lovely chemicals, filters, river rocks, and whatever else I have under the tank. I had the back secured with stuffed animals squashed between the wall and tank stand …HE PULLED ONE OUT! Luckily I was home and caught him!

To protect your carpeting under the bed; I went to the nearest grocery store and asked for large boxes I flattened the boxes, I had enough cardboard where it the feet to the bed held it down.  You can also order card board online that is thick.   TMy buns did and chew like crazy under the bed.  I also have carpet checks when I think of it if there are any holes in the cardboard I jusf slide another piece under neath of it.

Yea I put a collapsible table under it and cardboard now, but she still always will find some spot under there …so that’s a really good idea to hold it down with the feet of the bed! I’ll just line everything with cardboard!

Haha Britt, could you imagine trying to sell your house with cardboard lined around your entire living room? I could only imagine what the Realtors would tell you!

Hannah has also chewed off part of the wall – she took some big chunks out of the corner. I had a no-chew lime gel thing that I had never used, so I smeared it all over the corner. She actually left it alone! I think it was just annoying enough that she forgot about chewing. A lot of hair got stuck in the gel stuff, and I hope it’s not permanently hardened to the wall, but at least it kept her from chewing more.

Rubbing soap on the wall/floorboards is also supposed to prevent the bunnies from wanting to chew on them.

NIC’s … I use them as fence and just put them around everything, and for some bunnies it means the walls as well.
I tried Soap, Vingar, Bitter apple, and then Chili paste… Bubba liked every one of them licking them off so his brother could chew away again *sigh* I felt so bad after the hot sauce I really thought it would deter them and when it didn’t I felt so bad.

I tried STINKY OLD PERFUME and it worked! LOL! After I put it onto the wood parts, she didn’t even try to go there and just ignored it. But, slave got allergies.. ACHOO!!!!! Thank goodness for a portable air purifier.. I would have died last night if I didn’t have it ><

Anyways, I think Chacha was bored. I told my dad to bring out her blankets. She isn’t a digger in the carpet, which I’m thankful for. She likes to dig in her blankets.

My dad and I moved the furniture around and I told him that I’m going to move it back to how it was, and bring her kennel in. It is what she is used to Plus, moving the couch back to what it was, will cover the naughty part she did! HMPH!!!

Lintini, the house is already sold LOL .. My dad and I are getting ready to move.. slowly but surely..!!

Andi, I work at a store that sells NIC grids. I have a bunch in storage for the apartment that I move into next

Orville started eating into the drywall at my last place-not at the corner just on a flat spot. I have his pen area now protected with plywood.

I know you told me it was sold! I was saying if you went back and hard cardboard all over while showing the house rofl!
