Hello everyone! Ok so my bunny Emmit has this habit of biting the bars on his cage early in the morning (at like 5:30!) He also makes the digging motion as well on the bars. At first I thought he was hungry … but he doesn’t get fed until 8:00. He has wood to chew and plenty of hay in his home so I am out of ideas. Does anyone else have any???!! Help, I need my sleep!

Mine do that too….Put something squishy under the cage to insulate sound going to the floor (if the cage is on hard floor, put a blanket or something underneath) and then put a chew toy (preferably one without bells! lol) right where she digs and chews. Or stick cardboards and stuff through the bars right where she digs and chews.

They do it because they “are AWAKE and ENERGETIC” but you need to sleep so just give them something quieter to do!

LOL, my guy rattles and bites the baby gate bars when he wants out, NOW!!!! I swear I am going to find bunny teeth stuck in the wires. When I do let him out, he hangs on to the bars and pushes just to make sure he is really getting out. I have to tell him to let go, he is out now.

i’ve had success with using pieces of fleece…  i find scraps for cheap at the fabric store & cut them into 2’x2′ pieces or so.  i like fleece because my buns chew and dig on it but it doesn’t shred or have little stringy bits at all.  this is a great project for diggy buns AND it’s not noisy.  sometimes they pee on the blankie but the good thing is they’re washable.
