My rabbit has been trying to dig and chew at the carpet here and there and when she does I try to distract her with wooden chew sticks or other toys she has. She would take the stick out of my hand and set it down. So I decided to hold it and not let go and she started chewing a lot on it so I was thinking maybe it helped her? Maybe she wanted it to be immovable if that makes sense. But then when she’s done, she will nudge my hand and either lick my hand after that or she’ll sit against my legs (since I’m sitting on the floor with her) and kinda be cute and close to me so I feel like it’s a positive thing but I’m not entirely sure. Any opinions? Is this just a playful gesture?

I’ve done this with Asriel for months It’s one of the ways bond together. He loves to dig and chew everything, so I made it a positive by holding things for him to chew. He’ll chew until there’s no more stick left xD

A good substitute for digging is either getting her a hay/grass mat or laying old blankets down. Both of my boys love digging at the mats and trying to burrow into the blankets. It’s also a happy medium from destroying the floorboards

A warning about the blankets though, when her hormones kick in, she’ll probably start peeing all over it. Just take some white vinegar on a wash cloth and scrub it out, so you won’t have to wash it every single day.

Yeah she’s still really young and really well behaved and doesn’t pee on ANYTHING but in her litter box so…I’ve been wondering when that’ll change hahaha I’ll get her fixed as soon as she’s old enough
