gee what is with this fellow I got up this morning and he did not pee on the floor outside his cage.  tho still on his paper inside the cage. well that is better a little I suppose.  this morning I let him out first and he came back to supervise as I was changing his paper adding hay and fresh food and water. then he went to his fav spot. I did not stick my hand in the cage first thing I let him out first so lets see what tomorrow brings

however I notice for the last 3 nites he has peed on the couch cushion. not the one by my head the one at the other end of the couch. I caught him trying twice last nite and I jiggled the cushion and he moved off looked at me like hmpf. then tried again same jiggle cushion hop off and look ot say hmpf.

i put a towel over it last nite and he hasn’t gone to pee there since. well we moved here 2 weeks now and his marking is much better but this couch this is new behavior and he isn’t leaving all those poos all over except on the couch now. go figure. I keep throwing them in the litterbox outside his cage maybe that is why he started peeing on the cushion. well any ideas?

I am going to see what today brings. wish he could talk human talk. all this guessing here about the cause of his new behavior. heheee. well I still love him and spoil him. he is my sweetie bun.  he hears me rattle a bag and he comes running to his house to see if I put the lettuce in yet that was so funny this past week  i rattle real loud on purpose so he has learned loud bag means lettuce and greens. last nite I was fixing something for myself and he heard a bag rattle and came running over to his cage to see I saw him and went to get him his greens  as that is what i have taught him and he was reminding me heheee. i put them in then he went inside to inspect his greens and munch

also I made a smoothie I don’t use milk he came over curious so I put a wee bit on my spoon and he enjoyed it. not too much fruit tho too much sweet for him. he is so spoiled awe now I look at him he has flooped over and resting so cute. here I go talking to him.

the other couch is new he peed on it once. I sprayed it with odoban. and he hasn’t done it again on that one. he is in his favorite spot now cleaning under the desk and on top of covered container with my comp stuff in it. at nite when he is feeling very affectionate he come and lies next to me in his huge litterbox flops overthis is when I am at the computer  . he does that at nite with me on the couch too where I pet him. big ol bunny flop.

He does sound really sweet. (I love the pix you decided to use for your avatar, btw.)

Moving can be a bit difficult for them, since all the rules, new spots and forbidden places have changed. The couch is undoubtedly a familiar smell in unfamiliar territory, so would be attractive to him.

First, is the pillow too far gone? If you really can’t use it normally anymore, I had an idea. Put the litter pan you need him to use in that room in the spot where you want it. Set the newly marked pillow right behind it, so he has to go into that litter pan to get to it. (put a towel or something under to protect the rug.) He might go over to the litter box to get to the pillow, rather than on the couch. If he does, maybe he’ll pee there, or at least on the ruined pillow.

Otherwise, I’d clean and hide that pillow for a few days while training him to go in a litter box and off the couches.

          Snuggle bunny.

I’d recommend cleaning the cushion with some Nature’s Miracle to help get the scent out so he stops marking it and it’s also great with pee stains.
It is a territorial thing, since he keeps marking it like that. Since you just moved, it’s pretty common for bunnies often feel more frantic to mark and claim their territory.

You can also try putting a rubber backed bathroom carpet over that spot or simply keeping him off the couch entirely for the time being.

good luck and let us know how it’s going
