My sister got a willow ball filled with dried apples and a pack of wood log toys for Moshu. Its very clear that Moshu liked the willow ball very much. She doesnt show a lot of preference for the wood logs. I thought she would go crazy after them The wood logs are of hazelnut, as the label on the packet suggests. Is there any way I can make her use them more ?

I wouldn’t think so. Lily isn’t really into log toys either, but you could keep a few around for the sake of variety. One day she might be bored and try them.

Smaller ones, if you drill holes in them so you can thread sisal, or hemp rope through they may like dragging them around or chewing on them.

Mimsy, thats a good idea. Diamond, we can try Mimsy’s suggestion.

My mom tried something too. She cut the wood log into half, vertically. I am not sure, but perhaps the inner side of the log is softer ? tastier ? harder and hence, more challenging to chew ? Whatever it is, Moshu has biting and chewing on the toy more often than before.

I’m not sure where you live, but we also have blackberry brambles and some rose bushes that need cutting back. I bet stringing the thin branches of those through would make it interesting as well. As long as you don’t use chemicals in your yard that is.

I suppose you could stuff hay into it as well.

Between bunny, parrot and rats I’m always trying to come up with interesting ways for them to work on their teeth (and a beak) and keep em busy.
