In the spring Arduina went for a check up and I was told she needed to loose a 1/2 pound to a pound. She was about 6.5 lbs then.. and still waivers between 6-6.5 (our bathroom scale isn’t very accurate is part of the issue).
I have reduced her food, although now she shares with Leo, over the past 6 months. Leo also weighs about the same (6-6.5 lbs) and probably could also loose a little weight too. The two of them now share 1/4 C pellets in the morning and 3-4 C of veggies in the evening, and the obvious unlimited hay (timothy bluegrass or orchard). They don’t get treats every day, but I would say 3-4 times a week, they will each get one raisin or a piece of dried papaya, typically. This diet seems about the minimum according to HRS.. they each get ~1/8C of pellets/day and 1.5-2 C of veggies/day, so I don’t feel it can be reduced at all??
As far as exercise, they are free range in one room of the house and while we are home have the rest of the one story house to run around in. Arduina is very active and loves to run and play around, while Leo typically lounges around. Sometimes they will play chase (in the morning when they’re hungry for pellets).
How can I get them to loose some weight? I know next check up the Vet is going to yell at me
.
(Also, anyone know of an accurate bunny scale that is cheep?)
Do you think they need to loose weigh?
Arduina and Leo say:
We’re not fat, tell her to feed us more, mmm more pellets! We love treats too
.. and veggies!

“Is my butt too big?”

Mmm willow branches, our favorite! Oh and order us more binkybunny treats!
