Okay, so Chubs was just taken to the vet on Monday and he was given a clean bill of health. He has been fine all week. Yesterday we took a car trip and he had the whole back seat in his cage. We kept him cool and he seemed to do just fine. He even ate a little hay on the way here. Since we’ve been here, he hasn’t eaten hardly anything. He HAS pooped and seems fine, as he is hopping around and sprawling out on the floor and letting us pet him…but he isn’t eating hardly anything. Is he just stressed and will relax? Should I be panicking? Or should I just give him a little more time to settle in. (He has eaten the little piece of apple I gave him, and a tiny bit of hay but hasn’t touched his veggies or pellets)

I should mention that he’s also in a new place now. We decided to take him with us since we’d be staying with my boyfriend’s (his other owner) parent’s house for three weeks. So he is also in a new environment but still with us. And he ate a little cellery that we hand fed him just now…just stressed right???

Just keep an eye on him, If he is not eating or pooping for twelve hours then I would start to worry. My bunny had a scare like this once, she was not eating her lettuce or anything, I took her to the vet, and they gave me some motility drugs and some critical care and she was as good as new!

Just keep an eye on him, my bunny was acting fine too but that she did not eat her lettuce was what made me really worry.

Could be stress.  Sometimes they go off their food for a few days.  She should return back to normal in 1-3 days.

As previously mentioned watch that she does eat a little something.  And poops there should still be a few here n there til she eats regular again.

Sammy’s not eating her lettuce today, and wasn’t interested in it until very late yesterday. Frankly, in her case I think the lettuce which was organic and from a store I don’t usually frequent, has begun to turn and it’s more obvious to her than to me. it didn’t last as long as usual due to the heat in the car too.
So i will be getting fresh greens in the AM and hoping that it solves this bout of dieting.
It soiunds like Chubs is eating, just not much. He may be taking in more hay or pellets than your realize, or he’s drinking more water. It is summer, so the stress of a change and even a little heat may be causing him to eat more lightly until he feels secure.

Thanks everyone! He is eating a little more tonight and I think it was just nerves. He couldn’t refuse his favorite (fresh cilantro). So I think he’s just fine ) I’m just a paranoid nut.

No, it’s important to notice these small changes in behavior. Bunnies hide their illnesses, so sometimes the only clue to a big problem is a change in eating or pooing habits. I’m glad Chubs is better now.

And this morning you would have thought a vacuum cleaner came in the night and hoovered up all of Sammy’s food. She cleaned her dishes!
