I haven’t seen Indy drink out of his waterbottle. He’s been eating and pooping tons, I saw a puddle of pee

I’ve been drenching his veggies in water and he’s eating them all. He knows his water bottle is there, i was poking it and it splashed his face and he had to wash his face after. Any suggestions???

Lin, how about putting out a crock for him? But if he’s eating his greens (how much are you giving him?) he may be getting all the water he needs at the moment.
Is everything else normal? How are his sutures?

his sutures are very tiny – they look good. He’s acting completely normal -it’s hard keeping him quiet…he started zooming and I put him back in his cage and locked him in.

sorry what is a crock? a bowl of water?

He’s had a lot of greens- I think you are right…maybe I’ve been going overboard just giving him more than usual. I don’t even think he had many pellets. He’s had lots of lettuce, maybe 5-6 leaves? and maybe 1/4 of a bunch of parsley? He also ate some rose petals and stuff from that garden salad here off BB.

Oh dear. lolz…he ate that much? 0_o Well, surgery hasn’t affected the appetite apparently!
I don’t give mine more than a few shreds off their lettuce, plus maybe a few sprigs of carrot top for Mimz. One leaf usually does fine for all three, divided so that Mimzy eats more and the other two get smaller amounts. (I’m only recently reintroducing veggies to Pip & Fiver.)
I notice Mimzy will not eat a lot of other stuff after eating the garden treats. I wonder if they are ‘sugary’ at all for bunnies? High calorie, you know?
I think if you cut back on the greens (only if he’s not normally used to eating that much-as it could alter his digestion) you’ll see him drink fro the bottle again and probably eat more hay as well. But if you’re really concerned, it’s best to ask your vet. Certainly I don’t think we want him to choose all veggies over hay, but you have to judge if you think he’s not eating enough of the hay.
Yes, a crock is a bowl. Do you have any of those little ceramic bowls that they use for piggies or rabbits?

Oh yes, I have plenty of ceramic bowls, I’ll set one out for him. Okie no more veggies tonight …I was just freaked out that they said he wouldn’t eat so I gave him a lot to spark his interest.

Well he didn’t eat it all at one sitting, he ate that lettuce at like 3am …then today maybe around 10am the chunk of parsley

Ah, okay. ^_^ Wow, I was going to say, if he swallowed that all at once…poor thing! 0_0 He’s going to look like a little balloon!
I hope he takes to the bowl. Mine did, faster than I thought they would! Pip of course is now tipping hers out of it’s little divot in the sleeping shelf in her pen. And right on top of her hay. >.<
Fiver stuck his pine cone in his yesterday and it closed up. The day before it was his plushie apple…soaking wet.
Mimzy is very stealthy about drinking from his bowl. I never see him do it, but the water level goes down every day. Ninja bun.

Mimz you are a genius! I set a bowl out in the center of my room and tapped it with my fingernail. He came running to inspect, checked it out, and drank a bit! Thanks!

Oh that’s great! ^_^ Cool, now he’s got something new to play with!
And no genius involved at all. I only recently tried this with my bunnies and was surprised how well it worked out. Minus the accidents mentioned above. ^_^
I still prefer bottles. But isn’t it cute to watch that bunny tongue darting in and back at light speed and hear the water plooshing? So sweet!

I just had to take the fedex sticker away from him that he decided to take off the BB box. By the way…it came in a Penske truck lol! I guess the fedex truck broke down!

Now why oh why eat some really nice oat hay with rose petals and parsley when you can eat Fedex stickers!!! nomnomnom

Determined little bugger, isn’t he? ^_^ Love it!

Monkey tried eating my glasses tonite.. evidently she decided she needed more metal in her diet.

thats good that he is drinking water now. mine loved the water bowls too. they seem to be getting more water this way. i did have to switch them to the ones that mount on the side of the pen so they couldnt tip it over. i have to refill it twice somedays.

last night julia pulled a piece of the sticker off of her litter box. boy was she surprised when it stuck to the fur on the side of her mouth LOL!! she ran around really crazy trying to get it off her face. poor girl. i dont even know how she managed to get the sticker off there in the first place.

Lol Mimz I think you created a monster. He is only drinking out of the bowl now. I’m going to pick up more dishes tomorrow for everyone and see if they like them better!

M&M prefer the bowls for sure. I keep the bottles fresh and ready just in case tho Moose has a tendency of putting his toys in his water bowl… he just ruined his grass ball the other day doing that lol

lolz…Mine have all reverted to the bottle after Fiver kept putting his pinecones (which then close up and I have to dry them out to get them open again…two days in front of the heater) and apple plushie (which then needs washing/drying) in the bowl, or just in general tipping and sloshing it every time he ran around his pen.
Pip pokes her head up through the shelving and knocks her bowl loose, spraying everything underneath (hay, bunny. bedding…)…
And Mimzy just isn’t interested anymore. 0_o
I’ll keep offering them, but I think they’re back to their original routine and aren’t going to need the crocks again unless they are ill or too lazy to get up and go to the bottle.
