Little-Bit has never been a nudgy bunny. It’s rare that she thrusts her nose up under my hand for a rub. Instead, whenever she wants to be groomed, she just lays down and lowers her head. “Yes, you may groom me now..”
But Little-Bit has another communication that I’m not entirely sure what to make of. She’s always done it; she doesn’t nudge me, she ‘noses’ me. Especially when she’s explorative, playful, or greeting me. She just comes up and like…taps me with her nose, head-on. Repetitively. And in different areas. Like she’s saying “HI! HI! HI HI HI!”. And sometimes she does it REALLY hard. Enough to actually move my apendages if they are dangling. (How does that not hurt that soft little nose!?) But they’re just quick litte taps.
It’s definitely not her version of ‘groom me’. She’s often far too preoccupied with exploring or energy during these ‘nosings’ to even consider being groomed. I almost feel like it’s an other way for her to further establish that this giant object called mommy is actually physically present, like an add-on to whiskers or something.
I don’t know. Binkles never did it.
Anyone had experience with ‘nosing’ ?
