I have two buns – Eddie and Lollipop.   Eddie’s Mr Attention hog and is very affectionate.  Lolli is my “no touching” bunny.  She doesn’t like being petted or held or anything.  Occasionally she does like and let me give her nose pets.  She’s a very sweet girl and I got her as a baby.  She’s just not a rabbit who likes being petted.  Which is soo freaking hard cause she’s a mini rex.  lol

I know this is a good thing, but what do you all suppose it means when she comes up and gives me a nose bump?  Sometimes she’ll dart up to my feet and nudge me and then dart off.  That is obviously some kind of game.  I’ll lay on the floor with them and she came all the way up to me to nudge my side.  Another time she was under the bed and I leaned down and she came all the way up and nudged my nose.

Is this just her way of saying “hey, I like you” or something else?  lol  I was just curious as it seems to be new behavior.

I personally love nose bumps — though I am guarded because sometimes it means “MOVE! or I’ll nip your big bun to make you move!”

Nose bumps in our house are investigations, greetings AND/or requests to move.   If a nip does not follow, then it was just an investigation and/or greeting.

Sounds like she was just trying to check you out since she ran away.  So cute!

Nose bumps are interactive communication, and usually friendly or a push as BB described. I think a nose bump on your face is a great sign.

My bunny always bumps my legs when she walks next to me! I think it’s a way to say ‘hey you!’…sometimes she leaves and other she stays for pets!

I think it’s adorable! My bunny is the same, she’s very independent. She doesn’t need me, I need her. So when she does this to me it makes me happy, I know its always a greeting because when she wants me to move, she nips. no warning involved XD
