Ok, so my little man Baileys has been disapproving of all veggies except Parsley. I have tried celery, rosemary and cilantro. I don’t know what to do! He devours his hay and pellets, but specially hay, but no, no veggies… Any ideas?

        Thanks!!

Have you tried romaine lettuce or organic baby greens?  Chard?  Mint?  Those are Edson’s favorites.

Thank you knowltons! I’ve tried mint, no luck. I do not know what chard is in Spanish, or romaine lettuce.. I’ll find out and keep you posted!

Well, at least he likes parsley.

I say keep trying other greens and keep trying the one’s he disapproves up, maybe eventually he’ll take you up on the offer. It’s good though that he devours his hay.

              Are you measuring his pellets?

Thanks Sarita!! Yes, I also thought it was good that he ate his hay, but… I am still not sure whether it is the right kind of hay. It is mostly alfalfa, which I know is ok while young but not as adults. But it is all I could get where I live… I have been trying to persuade him into eating celery bec I understand it has A Vitamin which is important, but so far, it’s only parsley. I will control the amount of pellets.

Parsley is high in vitamin A and C so it’s a good vegetable for him.

I remember you saying you had a tough time finding a grass hay but if you are limited to what you can get, there isn’t much you can do at least he’s getting something.

I am sure you have lettuces where you are.  The only one that is bad is iceberg lettuce. The best is romaine. I’ll try and see what the spanish name is for it!

Edited: Romaine lettuce is lechuga romana, swiss chard is los suizos

Thank you!!! Yes, we do have lettuce, I was not sure about that kind, though.  The translation for Swiss Chard does not sound right, but I’ll see if I can get it. I’ll check. Sarita, the truth is I thought I had finally found the right hay, but now I am not sure… I’ll keep on trying with the greens anyway.

                      Thank you so much guys!!!!!!!
