no power for a week = unhappy buns!!

I live in Indiana where we had the bad ice storm and we just got power back last night!! It was only down for about 5 days and alot of people are still without so I am very thankful to have it back!! But my poor buns have been so lonely!!! They were real troopers though!!  I put hay and blankets in their boxes to help keep them warm. Luckily our house has energy efficient windows and doors and great insallation so It was never too aweful bad. But throwing them off their routine was hard!! We got home last night and I took turns with them letting them run around. They were both so happy running and doing binkies!! I’m glad they were not too traumatized!! I am officially ready for spring!!!!! No more snow!

OH my and your 2 beautiful girls have such short hair too.  Glad y’all were able to be somewhat warm.  That must be very difficult no elec.  no heat

You can have our heat I will take some cold for a while.  Lets trade.

O my, im so glad i didnt lose power!! It drove my crazy worry that i would! Lots of my friends and family in the area lost power and packed up to move into hotels because it was to cold. Im not sure that my house would hold the heat for long (old house!) and I had packed enough pellets and nic cubes to make a pen and bun stuff. I was smuggling them into a hotel with me if we lost power for more then a day lol. Cant imagine being that cold for 5 days, i wouldnt make it out sane lol.

WOW Glad it’s back on!

I lived in Southern Ontario where we lost power after a bad ice storm one year, for several days. Luckily we had a real fireplace and lots of wood, but we still had to sleep in our winter jackets. After that my parents bought a generator-it’s pretty cool, the power is out and you can still watch TV and have lights on!!

I always worry about losing power too. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost power when it’s like -40 outside. A few years ago (maybe the ice storm K&K is talking about) we had a bad ice storm and power was out for a week in some places. I only had Stormy at the time so it wasn’t too hard. I just tucked him in the back seat of the car and drove to my sister’s house in the country who has a fireplace. My cats stayed at the house and I checked on them every day. They were fine. They were able to cuddle and stay warm but I still felt bad. I spoil my buns and keep the rabbit room pretty warm so it would be a big shock to lose power for a few days.

It could of been much worse! I’m sooo glad to be home! We tried to get a hotel but every single hotel in town was sold out!! They said we had about 85,000 homes without power.  What really stinks is that I am in the middle of my second round of antibiotics for bronchitis and a sinus infection. So while i’m supposed to be resting i’m doing the exact opposite!!  But anyway, it’s all over now!! Me and the Buns are all sunggled up!!!

Back home we lost power for about a week and my family and I had to camp in the living room infrount of the fire, it was horrable. I cant imagen loseing power for days here, it would be to cold! I think Puff and Fluff woud be ok in the cold, they have super thick fur, but Foofoo would get cold
