I’m an idiot and kept forgetting to buy pellets.  We ran out last night.  Today I feel like death is upon me..ok so it’s a sinus infection but I feel like complete crap.  I don’t really know if I should even be driving with my head as fuzzy as it is and it’s pouring out too which makes driving even less safe and I’d have to bring my two year old.  But..I don’t want it to hurt my bunnies if they don’t have pellets.   Do you think they’d be ok for one night with just having extra greens and lots of hay or should I get my butt to the store?

I’d say skipping pellets for one night won’t be a problem – especially if they have lots of hay available. When I first got Noelle I wasn’t feeding her any pellets at all, then started giving them every other day or so. Now that Wally’s here I give them some to share every night. So I definitely don’t think missing 1 day of pellets will harm the bunnies.

That’s good to hear.  They definitely have lots and lots of hay.  They have brome, timothy and the oxbow kind that mixes timothy with herbs.  My girl bunny rarely eats her pellets anyway, and I think my lop will forgive me if I give him some extra greens to eat with his hay tonight.  He’s a big pellet eater but hopefully loads of hay and some tasty greens will tide him over.  We are going shopping in the morning anyway, I’ve put off grocery shopping as long as I can and I HAVE to do it or my human kids aren’t gonna have dinner tomorrow either lol and so we’ll stop at petsmart while we’re out.

Yeah – I’ve been recovering from a cold/sinus/bronchitis problem for a couple of weeks now – so I know all about not wanting to go out. My buns ate the last of their greens this morning, so I’ll have to venture over to the grocery store myself tonight to get them some supper!

Lots of hay and they’ll be fine (ok, maybe a little mad at you tomorrow, but other than that fine!! I actually get dizzy and bump into things when I have a sinus infection so I definately don’t think you should drive anywhere tonight!

They made it through ok lol, they just ate a lot more hay!   Drue was going nuts for his hay this morning, digging right in.  They got extra veggies last night too.

I’m feeling slightly better today, thankfully.   I drove out to petsmart while Mike stayed home and put away groceries and made lunch.  It was hard enough driving this morning in light of day and with no rain..AND feeling better then yesterday.  I can’t even imagine if I had gone last night.  I was much more of a mess then.

Glad to hear the little critters survived – and that you’re starting to feel a bit better!

I’m glad to hear that they “made” it Mine have had to go without pellets every now and then as well, and it doesn’t seem to harm them. If anything, mine eat even more hay too!
