My 2 1/2 year old Netherlands dwarf rabbit is very high maintenance, he’s super clean and takes extremely good care of himself (compared to my previous rabbits) recently I have noticed the hairs around some of his toes are missing! His skin doesn’t look red or irritated and he’s hopping around fine, his nails aren’t long so i don’t know if the hairs were just bothering him, or if maybe I should take him to the vet. He seems completely fine, and doesn’t seem to be in any pain.

Is the fur loose around other toes that you can pull it out like hand grooming ? I wonder if it’s the unique way your rabbit molts…? I let wick have full reign of foot grooming, but there are times I swipe occasionally and grab a ton, though it never goes bald.

Mr. Bigglesworth is a well known rabbit who has a condition that makes him furless in some areas. That’s an extreme case, but im not familiar with the condition as to if it can be developed over time in small areas.

Rabbits can get fungal infections which often present on feet and result in hair loss in toes etc. Otherwise if it’s underneath it could be from pododermatitis more commonly known as sore hocks.

It just looks like he had taken hair off two toes on his front paws, they’re not irritated or anything at all nice pink color like his skin I keep checking to make sure they’re not irritated. I guess I could just keep an eye on him and see what happens. That’s the only place he has no fur he’s nice and fluffy all the way around
