I would watch it and see – just watch it and if it starts getting puss or red then I would.

I agree- I would watch it and make sure it continues to heal and does not look worse.  It does look like a minor nip compared to what she COULD have gotten- but watch to make sure that the area heals normally and that it does not heal with fur rubbing against her eye.

Schroeder had a similiar nip from bonding and I had to watch his eye to make sure it did not heal abnormally and that he would not have “scar” that had the hair growing towards the eye and rubbing on the eye.  It is hard to explain exactly what I mean.  But their hair grows away from their eyes- and anything that disrupts that can cause the hair to point towards the eye and rub on the eye.  Fortunately Schroeders eye healed fine and I did not need any treatment for it at all.  I think towards the end of healing when he still had the scab I did use a tiny bit of Neosporin without the pain relief to keep the scab on the wound longer for better healing.

The little piece of skin actually just came off! I looked at it to check and see how it was and it was just gone! Around her eye was a liottle red but I could find the exact place the skin came from?! I am still keeping an eye on her but she seems to be ok now.

ooo poor bunny That happened when two of my boy bunnies got into a fight (one escaped his pen when I wasn’t home). Raymond, the one that got bitten, had a much larger cut on his eyelid, and still the vet said that there is not much you can do about those injuries without irritating the eye. Raymond had a pretty good incision on his eyelid, but it couldn’t be stitched together because the stitches would just scratch his eye. Now he just has a small bump where the cut was, but the vet did mention that as he got older I would have to continue to watch his eye and make sure that the scar tissue there did not start irritating the eye from constantly rubbing on it.

Keep an eye on it for infection.

We had this happen with two of the buns but Hoopie sliced Pookies eyelid at the top right thru it. I freaked out. She had blood all in the corner of her eye. The vet had to put her under and give her stitches. I had to give her antibiotic drops for awhile to avoid infection. You figure they are always cleaning w/ their “spit” in their eyes so they are constantly putting germs in that area.

Pookie still has a weird scare in the area and it has no hair. It didnt quite line up but some of the skin wasnt there to sew back. Poor baby!

Looks like this is a common injury. Rucy also got bit there by Bailey. She healed up okay – had a scar, but she did okay. It looks like really small cut/nip though so it will probably be fine, but I just triple ditto to keep an eye on it.
