Hi, I have finally discovered where I can buy NIC cubes in Scotland so I’m planning to make a space big enough for Pepper and a future second rabbit.  I’d be really interested to know what people use for floor surfaces to stop bunny putting paws through holes and also how do you keep yours clean?  Pepper currently has a nero cage which has a plastic base – it is so easy to clean out and I run it under the shower every week.  I worry that the new space will be too difficult to clean as it will be in the living room and I’d hate for visitors to come and immediately notice a rabbit smell.

What about linoleum?  It is sold in rolls at home improvement stores here.  Don’t know if you have those in Scotland.  You can just roll out what you need and make sure it extends beyond the cage some.  It can be cut in any dimension.  Very easy to wipe up.

Edited:  Actually you would need to put inside of the cubes – again it is very easy to cut to fit.

I found a recommendation on a UK forum that said you can buy them at B&Q.  You get 22 squares for twenty three pounds.  The item number is 5015772198409 so you can look it up on their website.  They have a different name – Selmka 6 cube storage system.

I would love to put down linoleum but when I first got pepper I tried that to give her extra floor traction on our wooden floors, she just ate through it and I couldn’t risk putting this in her cage.

Hurrah for finding cubes, I’ve seen many posts about people having a tough time tracking them down in the UK.

I have coroplast on the floor of mine, which is available through sign shops and some large home improvement types of places. It’s VERY easy to clean with a lil vinegar and water. It is n’t nearly as slippery as linoleum.

Great shopping Lorna!! I’m going to add this to our FAQ section because it is good to know where in the UK they can be found!
