  I ordered a new hutch for Pippins, it’s much larger than the one she has now! I’m very excited to get it, and it looks of similar quality to the Ware hutch I have now only bigger and multi-level. Perhaps there’s even room for a second bun…*ahem*…maybe a lop *ahem*…. However a lot of the reviews say that it arrived broken and/or with missing pieces.
  
  If anyone has any feedback on assembling the hutch or any other feedback I’d love to hear it!
  
  I ordered specifically the “Trixie Rabbit Hutch with Peaked Roof (Medium)” which measures 48.75L x 30.5W x 40H inches.

  However I actually ordered it from http://www.jet.com because I saved an extra 15% in doing so by using a promo code, hehe.
  
  I may also paint it because apparently there are some paints out there that are safe when dry. I’m thinking a deep, dark blue with white trimming. I’ll be posting pics during assembly and set up!

  I have never used anything like this, so no “reviews” here. As always, make sure your bunnies have plenty of time outside the cage.

  I like that it’s nice and deep, instead of the usual hutch depth that you normally see.
  
  I don’t have any suggestions either in regards to building, but should be pretty straightforward.

  Bam has a cage like that at my mother’s, almost exactly like it! At first mum and hubby thought he couldn’t go up to the second level – but that was classical Bam, he probably didn’t realize at first he had a second level. Once he found that out, he got up and down no problem.
  
  You could have an x-pen “exercise pen” outside it and keep the cage door open, at least during the day.

  Thanks guys! I’m so excited! And of course Pippins can come out of the cage whenever I am home, so at least 5+ hours daily. I love watching her in the morning because she has a lot of energy and does laps around the living room, lol.

  I loved that about the hutch too Azerane, it’s rather deep at 30.5 inches compared to the 20 inches I found in many other hutches I was looking at.

  The hutch came and unfortunately 3 hinges on one roof piece were completely broken so I’ll need to replace those today.
  
  But I got it all put together and painted, just need to do some finishing touches that I couldn’t yesterday because I had no masking tape. The hutch was really simple to put together and if I had more than just a Swiss army knife with a philips head screwdriver on it it would have taken maybe 10 minutes to put together with a drill gun. I’m at work so pictures will have to wait but the blue color I chose is so pretty <3 Of course I only painted the outside of the hutch just in case she does any chewing while she is inside of it. <br /> <br /> Now I need to buy some cool additions like hidey houses and blankies.

  Lovely! Now if it were me….and you’ve got the space…. I would join the two together – old (painted to match new) and new – and make a joining hole in the sidewalls so she could go from one to the other but still being enclosed. Like a big side extension….

  Thats absolutely gorgeous! I love the colors you chose to paint it too! I have previously kept rabbits outdoors in hutches and it never even crossed my mind to paint it but it looks so great!

  @viva…. you’ve heard of a hammer, surely…. (I’m joooooooking !!!!!)
  
  Now that’s a real shame. Do you not know anyone that is handy with a saw or a drill to make two adjoining holes…. in return for a nice cup of tea and a slice of cake? (that would work in the UK!)
  
  If not never mind, it was just a thought….
