Hi,
I am new to the forum. I am the proud parent of two adorable mini rexs, Peepers and Honey, both eleven weeks old. I have had them three weeks now. Honey only weighed a pound when I got her and Peepers weighed 18 ounces. Now they weigh 2 lbs. and 2.5 lbs. I was terrified Honey wasn’t going to make it because she was sneezing all the time and so small. But the vet says she is very healthy and just has an allergy. Believe it or not she seems to be allergic to my son’s guinea pig!!! Now you can’t tell she started out so small. She is almost as big as Peepers. They are both so sweet and loving. They love to cuddle. I am sure Honey is a mini rex. But Peepers I am not sure about. Some of her feature look more like a Holland lop.
This is the first time I have had two rabbits together and it is really funny how much Peepers mothers Honey. Peepers adopted Honey from the beginning and takes care of her. If Honey gets scared or upset Peepers comforts her. It is amazing, especially considering they are the same age. Even the vet was suprised by it. They are in the same pen and they cuddle together to sleep, they look so sweet. Peepers ears are always draped over Honey when they sleep.
I don’t know what I would do without these two little girls. I got them because both my mother and my daughter have dwarf rabbits. My mom has a four year old American Polish and my daugher a three year old Dutch. We have also had a Florida Whtie and a Holland Lop both who died. These are the first two that are mine. I am so glad I got them. I don’t know why I waited so long to get them. These little girls stole my heart.
I look forward to talking to other rabbit owners. And sharing experiences.
