I promised new pictures of my crew a while ago and have been slacking on getting any posted. . . .without further ado, here are my BONDED boys.

Henri decided to jump into my bin of hay the other day when I had it opened to refil boxes. . .

        I swear I feed them!

        Lilly, checking out Peppers

I have some more pictures of Lilly uploaded to my photobucket but I can’t get to that from here. I’ll try to post those from home later on tonight.

Thanks, he’s a sun conure, much smaller then Peppers but I am actually sort of scared of him. . . . those little beaks hurt!!! As you can see from the second pic though he really likes Matt.

BTW, congrats on the bonding. I know that there was still some nipping going on for a while.

So how do the birds feel about the buns? I figure that beak could leave a nasty hole in those lovely ears.

Dang, I had a rather involved response and it got cut and didn’t post correctly. I hate when that happens!
Great piccies! I especially love the one with Acorn in the food bag! BTDT!
I remember visiting some folks where my sis-in-law lived years ago, the landlords had birds and fish and who knows what else! They had a cute grey parrot/something-or-other that they called Boomer. I made the mistake of asking why they chose that name. The bird promptly hops down on my arm, crawls up to my ear and screams “BOOMER!” as loud as he possibly could. I think that side is still ringing today. >.<
My dad & stepmom used to work at the Panawe’a Zoo in Hawaii. They had a ‘greeter parrot’ at the door who would pester folks as they came in. (lovingly so) He was VERY fond of cookies. So he’d come sit on their shoulders and beg cookies. One day he kept going to my dad and saying “Cookie-cookie-cookie-cookie,” and bouncing up and down in the adorable way birdies do. My stepmom says, “You already HAD two cookies today!” So the parrot leans in very conspiratorially and whispers in my dad’s ear…”A cookie?”

I love them, but I am so afraid of being nipped by them I’ve never taken on a parrot or conure. I did have a set of ‘keets when I was little, but like most of my pets in my young life, they ‘disappeared’ one day while I was at school.

I love your Boomer story LOL.

Henry and Lily are so unreal (Henry FLOPPED – so cute) I’m still amazed looking at them. I think Acorn is beautiful.
                                    Pretty birdies!

Yeah, I’ve had thoughts of getting a parrot. My brother had a cockatoo when I was little. it loved him but used to chase my sister and I around the house. It couldn’t fly so just ran after us. Pretty funny, but those bites really hurt.
What puts me off getting one is that I worry about the noise and I’d have to get a big cage. Also, my husband would killlllll me!!!!

The birds and the bunnies are normally on totally different levels so they don’t interact much. When I got that picture, I had actually just put Peppers on the ground to see what he would do. They could definately do some damage to the bunnies but I would be more worried about Boomer around them then Peppers because conures are quick when they strike, Peppers knows he’s scary so opening his mouth is usually enough for him. Acorn is actually scared of Peppers but he thinks that the bunnies are great because they are constantly dropping little treats for him!

lol, suns can definately be noisy. They have a high pitched scream that they normally make for a little bit in the morning and at night and they also make other random “happy conure” sounds. Boomer is quite a bit noisier then Peppers but Peppers is a VERY quiet bird. Their life span is between 15-25 years or 25-35 depending on what source you are looking at so not as long as the Amazons but still quite long. They don’t need a huge cage so they also don’t take up as much space as the amazons. They are little clowns too! Very amusing.
