I finally got my shipment of NIC grids in during finals week…bad idea.  It took all my willpower to not start constructing until my exams were over (okay so maybe I did start ) …but now my exams are done, and Peppy’s new home is finished too!

(hehe, there I am with the camera)

The four grids attached to the side are a retractable bunny gate so that we can keep the room door open when she’s out.

Peppy’s carrier is in the cage for now because we don’t have enough floorspace to keep it laying around, and she likes lounging and napping in it anyways.  So far, she mainly stays on the first floor, but she’s wandered up to the upper floors a bit.  She’s usually an avid climber (jumps onto the top of her old cage, onto the chair, and from the chair onto the desk…) so I’m hoping she’ll eventually spend more time on the upper levels too.

I love it! Great job! (who can sit on a shipment on NIC’s idly?? that’s just impossible!)

Looks great! How are the levels supported?

Monkeybun, we drilled holes in the platforms near the edge and zip-tied them to the cage. They are surprisingly very sturdy!

Make sure to check the zip ties for chewing marks… Monkey has nibbled at hers occasionally. Not enough to cause issues, but there are marks. A real chewer could gnaw through them in no time.

Mine gnaw zipties apart as soon as I zip them tight. I only use connectors and wire now.

Just in case if you’re not sure if your bunny will chew the ties, you should get some dowel rods! They’re totally like 4 bucks each at the most at home depot.

Thanks for the comments and concerns everyone! I will definitely keep an eye on the zip ties to make sure Peppy doesn’t chew them…so far there don’t seem to be any marks on the ties, but I will keep the dowel idea in mind if I do start to see problems.

Peppy is really warming up to the upper layers now…I’m convinced that if I made the thing even taller, she would spend all her time on the top layer just so she could give me her expertly honed disapproving bunny face from above!

Bunnies seem to like the upper floors of condos. I’ve seen some condos with just an extra 2 cube “lookout” on top.

I love the cage! Also, where did you get your carrier from? I love it. Does it have a top opening? Smokey needs a new carrier D:

The condo looks beautiful, and I also love the carrier.
