Hi! I am a recent very frequent lurker here, and thought I should introduce myself. I don’t have home internet, but I have been reading here quite a bit when I’m at work off and on but haven’t had a chance to say hi! I probably won’t (can’t) post much, if ever, but wanted to thank everyone for the great info on here.
I have always wanted to have rabbits, but never had any till now. I had multiple ferrets all during my twenties, but when my last weasel passed, I decided I wanted rabbits. That was three years ago, but I just in the last four months adopted 3- all young! eek! 3 hormonal 5 month old bunnies, lol.
Simone and Fiona are bonded sisters, dutch dwarfs. Sketcher is a dwarf mix of some sort. They are all pet store bunnies and not very socialized (though well cared for while at the store!) so they can still be a bit skittish with me to an extent, but they are quickly becoming spoiled!
Fiona in her happy hut- she loves to nap in here with her rear end and back legs hanging out, but I can’t get a good pic of it:

Simone being a cutie:

The girls’ cage and pen. They get to come out into their pen as long as I am home:

The portion of the living room they get to play in at night:

Sketcher in his bachelor pad in the bedroom:

Sketcher has a respiratory yucky. Very minor, but I want it cleared up, then he will get neutered, then I will slowly start introducing him to the girls! They are going to get spayed as soon as I can afford it, but it is MUCH more expensive then nuetering in my area.
After researching LOTS here and other places, my kids get limited amounts of Oxbow timothy pellets twice daily, lots of herbs and leafy greens twice daily, a small amount of other veggies twice daily and all the hay they can eat. I tend to spoil my animals, so I currently have timothy, orchard grass, oat hay AND the oxbow botanical mix, lol. I refill their hay racks once or twice daily-I guess I am lucky- all three of mine are PIGS and eat pretty much everything, an eat lots of hay. They literally trip me when I try to walk to their cage with their bowls or with fresh hay-leap and race in circles around my feet, lol.
None of them are really happy with me petting them, but I have spent the last several months letting them get to know me, and they are all just starting to allow me to pet and touch them, not enjoying it very much but allowing it!
Outside of my hands touching them though, they are all quite sassy. It’s very common for me to be on my hands and knees cleaning the girls’ cage and have fiona in the cage mock-attacking the handbroom and begging for treats, and simone behind me tugging on my belt! It’s awesome and cracks me up every time. Sassy rotten bunnies
So I am excited to think about the years to come as they learn to trust me even more and bond with me.
They are all three very playful, love boxes, and toys and chasing around and binkys. Sketcher is quite the escape artist and always binkies across the room if he manages to get out of his playarea. Which of course I LOVE so I HAVE to let him play a little bit before I herd him back to his pen. I have three pretty active dogs, so we are going to take our time socializing everybody with everybody so it may be awhile before they get to be house bunnies. But they seem pretty happy with their setups! I also have four cats, they are all great with the bunnies and vice versa. My youngest cat Peter is still practically a kitten and thinks the bunnies are fun plus he loves their tunnels, LOL, so I always supervise him with them. The girls are quickly learning to tell him off, lol, but i think him and Sketcher are becoming buds.
All in all, I am delighted with my new family members. Thanks for all the great info, and if I have any major issues you will hear from me!
