I used to use a pc but my husband bought a MacBook and I absolutely love it (besides it being faster than my ancient pc)!  I had trouble getting used to the mac at first but you catch on after awhile.

I have a macbook. It’s a little tough getting used to the one mouse clicky guy and which buttons are control click etc. But it’s actually super easy to use!!!

Also, it likely came with a program (mine is a couple of years old and it was called boot camp but its something different now) that allows you to run windows on it. Sooo what happens with it is when it starts up it gives you an option-Mac or Windows. Then you jump on windows side (you can now run all programs that do not come for Mac on the windows side) and use it just like a regular PC!

Let me know specifically what your having trouble with and I can help!! But play around with it, it’s actually super user friendly and comes with great programs already loaded.

Tigerlily– I have a Powerbook G4 also. I love this computer!! Even though I have had it for 4-5 years it is still completely up to par with newer ones. One thing is, I don’t think that this version had the option to switch back and forth between Mac and Windows. One thing that may help you is to make sure that all of your software is updated (go to system preferences and run software update) and you may want to purchase the latest operating system (OS 10.5.x) if you have not already. Some programs will not update automatically (ie Adobe Reader) but you can get these free online. A lot of people have trouble with Macs because they try to treat it like a PC… just remember that you are probably working too hard! macs are set up to be easy and logical.
If you have any specific questions let me know!
PS I don’t have any trouble with the BB site, I use Safari….. Internet explorer is bad news!!

For some reason I cannot get BB on Safari but I think it’s been awhile since I’ve tried – maybe I’ll try Safari again to see.

My hubby downloaded Firefox to use instead of Safari.  It seemed like some websites you couldn’t get up on Safari, so maybe if you download Firefox then BB will come up.  Here’s the link: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/?from=getfirefox

We don’t have windows on our mac, so not sure about that…

I was having trouble with Safari on some sites before I updated my operating system to 10.5.x (i think thats Leopard… can’t keep up with all of the cat names!). It is expensive if you get a personal update for 1 computer, but I bought the “family pack” for 5 computers and shared it with friends/family so we each paid about $40. I haven’t had any trouble since, except with PDF files, but Adobe Reader finally released a patch and its all working perfect now.

That is a good question…you can do one of two things
                            1) go to edit at top of the screen and copy, paste, cut should be options
                            2) the easier and faster way is to use the key with the apple on it next to your space bar.
                            Soooo… apple + C= copy apple + V=paste apple+X= cut
A few other shortcuts that may help you out…
apple+W= new window apple+T= new safari tab apple+tab=switches between active programs apple+ ~ = switches between open windows
                            good luck!

quick edit— apple + W= closes window apple + N= new window

highlight what you want press the apple key and c to copy and then the apple key and v to paste. On Macs the apple key replaces the control key for shortcuts
