  Hey all, im obviously new here. My name is Mellisa…I am currently owned by a black silver marten buck,”Blackberry” and a dark sable female Netherland Dwarf, “Bambi” [name subject to change]. Both are rescues. Blackberry was found on the side of the road in the blackberry bushes – someone obviously just dumped him. He was found with another bunny, a chinchilla doe we named River, but sadly she got sick and died after all efforts to help her. We found that she had Mucoid Entritis when it was too late. Not too long after, I recieved a mini rex named Patches, who unfortunatly was too neglected and we think he died from hairball, still unsure. He was perfectly fine in the morning and was gone when i came home 5 hours later…Just Sunday i adopted Bambi from the Tacoma Humane Society. My first “real” adoption ever. I was so proud of myself! I am not new to the rabbit thing, but i am still learning the “house bunny” thing. I raised rabbits for show for 5 years when i was younger, showing in 4-H and grew out from there to show ARBA all over the state. I raised Netherlands and Dwarf Hotots for show and pets. Now, my buns are strictly pets. I think i spoil them more than my cat haha. Right now Blackberry is intact so he will be scheduled for a neuter as soon as i get money for the procedure [now that i have approved vets for bunnies-thanks to THS!]. Bambi is already spayed but you wouldnt know it, she definatly has attitude…but i love that in her.

  Welcome here! I am very sorry to hear about the passing of River and Patches. That’s always very tough tp handle.

  Welcome! Blackberry is a cute name. Owned by a blackberry usually alludes to that electronic device but being owned by bunnies is better!

  I have some old pics on this computer…my cat ended up eating my charging cord for my computer[im on my boyfriends right now] wont have new pics until i buy a new one.grrr….

  Hi Chevy bunny – hope it was ok, I popped your pictures up. There’s some info on posting pics in the Tech section of the forums. Things may have changed a little though because of some site updates but that only seems to be for attachments not using the picture icon method.

  Blackberry looks handsome too – hard to believe he was a stray.
  Bambi ??? We’ll wait and see…
  And Kitty. Kitty chewed your phone cord??? Nooo! She looks to innocent. Besides, cord chewing is bunny territory.

  your local to me as well! i live in auburn, my bunny is the same color as yours but a mini lop. im so glad you rescued! i know of a great cheap place for a neuter so let me know if you need the information! i only paid 45$ for my bun and have always taken my other animals there to be fixed.
