Hi guys! My name is Chris. I live in Alabama (in the US, just in case LOL).

I am interested in a bunny, preferably a holland lop or another smaller sized rabbit, as this is my first bunny! Ive had guinea pigs and rats before so I’m not new to the small animal world!

There are many cages out there for buns, and I am looking into a XL Dog Crate for mine! I’ve seen a few dog crate-bunny cages before with second levels added on. Can anyone tell me how I can add a second level for my future rabbit?

Thanks and glad to be apart of this forum!!

I used a dog crate for one of my other bunnies when I first got her. I actually switched her cage because of her size it wasn’t big enough. I never added a second level but I have seen people use safe woods. heres a picture http://www.leithpetwerks.com/prodpage.cfm?prod_code=PH129. I use an NIC Cube design for my bunny.

A dog crate is a bit trickier to add a second level however, it depeands how high it is, you can add a price of wood half the length of the crate and drill holes in it and zip tie it to the cage or put posts beneath it (post are more stable and reliable) if the crate is really short then you can take the top off the crate put wood or flooring there instead with a ramp then put NIC grids as the walls. Good luck and grats on joining our bunny world!
