Hi and welcome to Binky Bunny! You would not be able to bond Nova with another rabbit until the other rabbit had been spayed or neutered and a few weeks have elapsed after his or her surgery. If you are getting a very young bunny as a companion for Nova, it will be months before they can be together. Are there any rescues or shelters in your area that have rabbits? Most if not all rescues will have rabbits that are already spayed or neutered and many shelters also will have spayed or neutered rabbits. After Nova is spayed, you would still have to wait a few weeks before introducing her to any rabbit, so that she can heal from surgery and so that the hormones can abate, but you would be able to get her a companion a lot sooner if you got one that was already spayed or neutered. It’s usually easier to bond a spayed female with a neutered male, but you can bond same sex rabbits. If you did adopt a rabbit that was already spayed or neutered, after Nova has been spayed, when you brought him or her home, the rabbit would have to settle in for a couple of weeks before you started a bonding routine. If you still plan to bring this baby bunny home, the rabbits will have to be completely separated for many months.
