It’s in and he loves it!

It was a pain in the a$$ (it was too big to fit through the door), but now that its in Jack and I are super happy! He actually might take some time to settle in, but he has found his favorite spot already.  Its on swivel casters too for easy cleaning. They lock so he can’t push it, but its so heavy I doubt he could anyway.

        Here are some pics:

He hasn’t tried the penthouse yet. Hopefully someday.

Wow MiNinoJack! Your condo is awesome! If I had C&C grids, I might try to copy it How long did it take to build?

That bunny condo is awesome!!! I use X-pens for Chomondeley’s enclosure and playpen, but they’re getting old, and I’m thinking of building a sort of a setup with NIC cubes… maybe. Your rabbits look so happy! Good job!

Thank you all!!! I really needed validation on this one because it was so much work in the end due to my poor planning. After it was built it wouldn’t make it through the door so I had to remove the base, saw down the supports by hand AND take the door off its hinges.

@Nature’s Nerd – The actual build didn’t take all that long. Maybe a couple of hours. The design stage and then going to home depot is what took up the most time. If you want I can send you a shopping list with measurements. Just make sure it fits through the door or build it in the room its going to live in!

@Vienna Blue – I came home this morning from doing laundry and he was loafing on the top floor!. I am so happy!

@Cinnybunny – He had an x-pen before this. It was great, but it took up so much floor space and it was hard to clean since I had to pull everything up all the time to get under it. Now all I have to do is roll this away from the wall and vacuum inside and out. In the end he has more square footage now, and a more interesting space to enjoy while taking up less space in the living room. I’ll be attaching his x-pen again when I go away next month so the bunny sitter doesn’t need to let him out. He’ll have enough room to play on his own.

He really loves it – didn’t want to come out last night. He’s a climber – loves to jump on the back of my couch so this is much safer for him and he gets the height and view he needs to supervise the room.

Brilliant – attaching the xpen to it too !!!! Well done you !! Perfect for a small to medium size bunny !!!

Yeah he’s a little guy. Only 3 lbs. I’ll only attach the pen if I’m going away for a while and have a sitter coming. He’s super hard to get back in his cage when he’s playing so this way with the pen attached the sitter won’t need to worry about that.

I’m so proud of myself for finally building this. Anything to make my bun happy. Thanks for the support!

This is a lovely set up! What a lucky bunny! They do like elevated platforms =)

                          It turned out great

I considered putting mine on castors but I didn’t use really thick ply for the base so given it’s size would have possibly bowed a little without using at least 6 of them. Plus, I get paranoid about bugs and spiders living under things. So having the condo on the floor ruled that out as a possibility.

Thanks Azerane! I love the casters for cleaning. I had such a hard time getting behind the x-pen to get the stray hay and poops that would always find their way into corners.

I’m not so scared of spiders (although I want to keep them away from Jack), but there are really very few where I’m living now. I am more afraid of roaches (I’m terrified, actually) and so keeping clean is a priority for me. Hence the casters 🙂
