So I just ordered the “molting comb” from BB! I can’t wait to get it in because poor Hatter just has tuffs of hair coming off of him. It’s not all that bad because he LOVES when I pet him now. He hops over to me practically demanding it now….. How long does molting usually last? It seems likes it’s been about a month now for Hatter. He molts in tiny tuffs of hair….not some giant POOF…and we’re done…although I think that would be easier…..

I think that must be the hairbuster as that is the only comb we sell (my favorite) and we happen to have it on sale until Monday, so it’s been a popular item. I bet we sent out yours today if you ordered 3pm today.

As far as to how long does molting last – It depends on the bunny, but usually a few weeks from beginning to end. But depending on the bunny, the weather and where the bunny is housed can make a difference too. Some bunnies will “explosion” molt and blow the majority of their coat in just a little over a week, while others can molt steady and slowly for 6 weeks. And some say their bunny is on a year round slow molt. From what I have read, the very first molt can be the biggest.

              Yes, I meant the Hairbuster…sorry….

I can’t wait for his shedding to stop! I just want to always pick off little tuffs of fur!!!  He is about 3 years old so I can’t imagine that this is his 1st molt

I was laughing at a thread on the Bunspace site this morning called Those Darn Mother Pluckers for us that just can’t resist those tuffs! Lola’s getting pretty fed up with me always snitching at her.

I have a question about this, I have been using a brush that has the matals bristles (the one I use for Boo’s my cat), I brush really gentle on Lily, could those brushes hurt Lily? I just find it more convenient because when I am brushing Boo’s Lily comes over to check it out & vise versa! I swear I could make a baby bun & kitten out of what i am getting out of them right now! LOL! I just don’t want to hurt Lily, & he doesn’t seem to mind

I went through older posts & these brushes or other combs can scratch their skin! I really liked the info on the Hairbuster & the furminator! But, I guess no matter what you use, you’d have to be really gentle not to scratch their skin!

I have this comb, it’s great! I use it on all of our pets. I love how it doesn’t just send the hair flying, it holds it in the little orange thingy-ma-bob.
