I know, I know, I redo my set up A LOT! But this is the last setup. ( well until we move next year )

I LOVE it! Its a loft bed with the cage underneath and wooden storage units. ( the wooden storage was from my room before I had my bunnies.)

        What do ya think?

        Storage

Bed. Sorry the picture a little blurry ( like my pillow case?)

I also have a question for condo flooring. Right now I have linoleum but recently I have been using fleece over the top of it because its a little slippery. But, this morning we got our first snow and I really don’t want to shake the hay out in the woods in the middle of winter. I wanted to get some rugs but if they pee on them you can’t just through them in the washer, you have to throw them away! Any thoughts? Advise?

        Thanks!

          dude, you pillow is awesome.

I’m a little confused, whats the difference between using fleece & using a rug? cos either way you’ll have to shake out the hay…? Or are you saying that w/ the rug you can just vacuum?

Love the set up btw! I had the same idea so me and my luvbuns could be roomies, but I had enough of loft beds in college…

I love loft beds.  My husband and I had a queen size one when we lived in a smaller San Francisco apartment, and we had our office underneath it.  Allowed for so much more room.

It always worried me though that all of our computers and stuff could be crushed it the bed fell somehow. So Steve got more wood to make it more stable (like how you have the one vertical leg, we had one on each corner and then we also secured the legs and the bed to some studs in the wall.  Over time though, after years, things slowly become a little less stable (of course, we are two grown adults and so our weight is alot more than yours), and so we would have to maintain its stability about a few times a year by checking the screws and bolts and fastening them in tighter when we spotted any looseness.  We made it so that bed would not move at all.  If it did, we checked the wood and the hardware.

Your dad seem pretty darn handy and so hopefully he secured it well, (it just concerns me there is only one leg even if the bed is fastened to the wall. so if you have any doubts, as I know you wouldn’t want it to fall down on your bunnies, you might talk to him about it.

I’m a messy cleaner (if that makes sense) I shake my rats fleece in their cages (their box trained so it’s not as gross as it sounds) and then use the mini hoover (which recently broke ) to vacuum up what’s inside it/missed and it the floor. Then if the fleece isn’t stinky (usually isn’t) I put it back in the cage after I wash the shelves down.

May I add, I am totally jelaous of your cage/bed set up! Haha. That’s so flpping cool!
I’d probably roll off of it though… and the dogs would be sad they wouldn’t be able to slep on the bed. Haha.

BB: It is pretty sturdy and I don’t weigh that much. The bed wont be up that long either, We will be moving next spring/summer. But we have some extra wood I could talk to him about making it more sturdy.
Yeah my dad is pretty handy, He doesn’t necessarily like to do it, but he is good at it

Mandyyyy: LOL thanks! their is a little ledge so if I rolled out of bed I would just fall in the ledge.

The main reason I like this setup is that the bunnies are free range 24/7

OMG! Nice bed .. i wish i had those but i probably might fall off. Anyways If i were you, i would add like a shower curtain on the bottom of the cage and them some fleece on top so if they accidently pee in the fleece it will go onto the water proof curtain!!

Not all bunnies pee outside their box And her cage floor is actually linoleum, so it’s fully washable
