Nimmy just got his pin out today! Huzzah~ Now he’s got a couple staples in his arm, and in about 2 weeks he’ll get them removed. I’m kind of skeptical about the vet that I take him to, they seem to have a communication problem. My boyfriend dropped him off this morning, and this afternoon I got a call from the vet saying I can come pick him up, though they couldn’t get the pin out because his bone grew over it. But when I got there the nurse told me they were able to get the pin out
.
Whatever, anyways when Nimmy broke his arm I moved him from his NIC condo because it had two levels, and luckily I still had his old cage. Once I’m out of bedding (about 2 weeks) I’m going to move him back to his NIC condo, but I’d like to readjust it. This is what it currently looks like.

I’m going to remove the second level, maybe I’ll add it again in the future, but for now one level is mandatory.
- Should I just take the top level out and leave it, as is?
- What should I use to cover the floor? I previously used bathroom floor rugs, but he kept chewing on them. Plus they’re a pain to clean if he gets his cecotropes on them. And as a result, I’d also like to rule out fleece blankets. I was looking into grass mats, maybe?
- When/if I do decide to add in the second flooring, any suggestions for the layout? I was thinking of adding a Half-landing type of ramp (http://popularstairs.com/userfiles/image/half-landing-stairs-1.jpg) and having a full top floor rather than the two sides.
