Ive been doing a lot of reading and trying to figure out all the necessities for having a little bunbun just to make sure he has everything he needs and to make him as happy as possble.
Im trying to litter train him and its been two days so far but Im wondering if I should keep him in his pen until hes trained or if I can let him out? As soon as I let
him out to play around the house he pees and poops as he goes so Ive kept him in his pen the past two days but I feel so bad! Im wondering if its the right call..
Also for the litter training so far hes been pooping all over his pen so I place the poops in his litter but my mom pointed out that maybe he noticed Im picking them up for him so he sees no reason to use the litter box himself and that was so funny to me because what if its true! Haha what do you think?
He doesnt seem to eat a lot of hay.. I see him picking at it every now and then but the pile I give him doesnt seem to get any smaller by the end of the day. Should I feed him less veggies to encourage him to eat more hay? Ive even made him a little paper towel roll toy filled with hay and he seems to be loving it but I still feel like its not enough. I know its suppose to be 80% hay and 20% veggies but as of right now I feel like its the opposite. I give him about half a cup in the morning and half at night and I feel like thats all he waits for! Someone have any other ideas?
Im not sure if he was given any veggies before I got him because hes been very difficult with me about what he eats haha.. he took to carrots and celery right away but Ive read those are more treat foods so I tried some others but when I gave him kale, mint and arugula he would not even taste it he actually pushed me hand away. So I left it in his pen for a little to see if hed atleast try anything before making up his mind andddd he ended up giving them a try and now he loves those three more than the celery and carrots. I also bought radicchio but he doesnt like it which I found surprising because a lot of bunny owners said theirs love it.
I was wondering what foods your bunnies like and do you suggest I try?
As for fruits Ive tried blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries but he wont even try them even if I leave them in his cage. Im thinking trying apples or bananas next? What fruits do you guys suggest?
Also, hes a red mini satin, and his names Momo ❤️ Ive had him for a little over a week and he’s already opening up with his personality and I absolutely love his little sassy self already!
Anyways I guess thats it for now! Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and possibly answer. Its very much appreciated
