So I finally found my long awaited second bunny, a beautiful little girl who I’m bringing home Thursday. I will not be able to start the actual bonding for at least a month or two, because she needs to be spayed.

My main question is what should I do in the mean time, preparation wise? Is it alright to keep both of their cages in the same room, or will it hurt their bonding?

Lastly, how long should I wait after my girl is spayed before starting to bond them? I’ve heard a lot of variations on how long it takes for hormones to die down. Thanks!

I think it depends on the bunnies involved. Sometimes it helps for them to see/smell each other. Sometimes it doesn’t. You could try it and see how they react.

I would wait about a month post-spay. Not only will she be healed, but her hormones will be calming.
