So my male Dutch bunny OREO has always been the best pet ever but now he is starting to do a few wierd behaviors. The first thing that worried me was that whenever I put him back in his cage he starts growling and making clicking noises I searched what that meant and it said that it was supposed to be a threat. I’m very scared because I don’t wanna be bitten. I also noticed he was acting differently because he started chewing everything. He was never a chewer before so I decided to buy him some new toys to chew on but he refused to play with them. All he does is chew on my parents shoes (which btw my parents aren’t to happy about) I’m scared Oreo might do something really bad that will make my parents so mad that they get rid of him. I’ve tried to get him new toys and I also watch his every move when he’s out of the cage but he is still getting into trouble and sometimes I get so mad I want to scream but ofcourse I never do. Please help!!!!!!!

Hi, how old is Oreo? And is he neutered.

Rabbits are chewers – you need to find a more appropriate toy for him to chew on besides your parent’s shoes.

You also need to make sure you rabbit proof your home – that’s your responsibility as a rabbit owner. Make sure cords are covered and placed that you don’t want him are covered as well. It’s for his safety and the safety of your cords and home.

How old is he? Is he neutered? All of these behaviors seem like something a teenage unneutered bun would do.

                  Hi, welcome to the forums!

By clicking noise do you mean he’s making a noise with his teeth or is he thumping with his back legs on the cage floor? When a bunny displays a new behaviour, it’s best to get them seen by the vet to check there is nothing medical that’s causing them to behave differently.
