         Hi all

I must be mad but we have 2 new bunnies, Jazz and Harmony two beauitful Netherland Dwarf females. I have never had females and just need to check how long before I can get them “done” Jazz is a nutter so will have to be sprayed as she goes for everything. Harmony is much more soft and gentle so i might just leave her.

        Thanks

Hi Jonathan – congratulations on your 2 new bunnies. You should get both of them spayed – it will be healthier (eliminates uterine cancer which an unspayed female will have a high chance of). You can get them spayed at 6 months of age.

            Welcome!
Well you’re only as mad as the rest of us!!! They sound adorable. GREAT names!   Any chances of seeing some pictures?

              Hi, Jonathan,

Yes, they will both need to be spayed for their health. I hate to say it, but the honeymoon may be over soon with Harmony – her hormones might not have kicked in yet.

I would love to see pix.

Welcome to BinkyBunny! I would also love to see pics of your new girls! Do you have any other bunnies now, or just them?

You should get both of them spayed…even if one is less of a “nutter” as you say. Having one not spayed may trigger agression between her and the other as her hormones will be elevated. Also, not super sure on this one, but don’t female rabbits have periods from time to time if they are not spayed?
Spaying also decreases the chances of uterine cancer in females as well, so I would recommend it.

And I hope you add pictures soon too!
