So I have a little lionhead. His name is Seamus and from the moment I got him he was sweet and loving and the best little bun. He doesn’t need a cage, he isnt destructive and he loves to cuddle and play. Ive had him for about 6months now
And then there is Craig.
I wanted to get Seamus a friend since I work a lot/am out with my boyfriend. But Craig is SOOO destructive and aggressive. He charged at me when I tried to shoo him away from digging and ripping at the mattress
..I’m trying to bond with the new bunny to bring out his sweetness but he is so destructive that I cant trust him to be out for long (digs at EVERYTHING and tried to pull and rip and chew). I’m so scared that he will hurt Seamus. Ive only had him for a couple of weeks and I really cant stand him. (probably just because I’m uncertain of him). Seamus has been fixed for about 3 weeks and Craig just got fixed a few days ago. Craig has been staying with my bf while Seamus recovered from being neutered and now Craig is at my house (my bf couldnt get the time off to take him to get fixed). Seamus is terrified of the new bun. He sees him through the bars and runs. He is curious and wants to know his new friend but Craig just bites and scratches at the cage. I know it can take a while for neutering to take affect but I’m really worried it wont change his temperament. I’m taking Craig back to daddy’s so him neutering can take affect. But I dont know if I even want him back. Seamus is so sweet and so fragile. He just wants to be loved and coddled.
Any words of encouragement so I dont have to stress over my little baby being beaten up by the new rabbit?
I want him gone…but he is my boyfriends rabbit.
I know it can be hard for two males to bond, but Craig was up on the internet as a bun “for Easter” and I wanted to save him from being loved for two weeks then neglected in a cage. I’m sure he just needs time but… I really can’t stand him so far
