  So on Dec. 1st my lionhead delivered a surprise litter. .. there were 5…but the smallest one..unfortunately died..

  yea its a bit much..and they all start looking the same..but i couldnt help myself!!
  
  Also, I was just wondering..if I had known she was pregnant and fed her more food, or gave her certain food that pregant rabbits needed, then is it possible for the little one to have been born healthier?

  I don’t know about the kind of feed, but my understanding is pregnant and nursing Does get an unlimited amount. I’ll research around a bit to see if I can find anything more about this aspect. I’ll also email a few rabbit savvy experts I know.
  
  This is a good education for me as well since I am lacking in this particular subject.
  
  I hope you don’t beat yourself up about it. I think it is normal to have "runt" in the group regardless. It is harder for those to survive.
  
  I’ll keep you updated on what I find out, and I’d appreciate if you’d do the same, so I can continue to learn.
  
  Babies are sooooooooo cute. What precious pictures.
  
  Don’t be surprised if it gets messy! The female may produce more pellets nearby, and the babies will be messy, and only get messier for weeks to come.
  
  Also, I don’t know if you have the male any where nearby, but the female can get pregnant again within 24 hours of giving birth. Boy, they are amazing!

  Ok, back to normal adultness. Well, as normal as can be expected.
  
  EVERY LITTER HAS A RUNT More often than not, at least one baby per littler is unhealthy and takes a very long time to get well or dies, unfortunately. My friend is constanly rescuing litters who end up having babies shortly after being rescued. At least one baby has passed away out of the 8 litters she has been there for. I’m sorry about the loss of the one baby, and believe me I know how hard that was, but focus on keping these precious babies healthy. So Cute!

  yes one of the babies in the litter that Orange Juice was in was a color that is bad when you breed two orange bunnies and he died

  the babies opened their eyes on sunday!! first..it was one baby..one eyeball..on litlte crack. and then another baby cracked one eye and the next day they were cracking open everywhere! soo cute
  
  But I think I may have given the mother some respiratory problems, because somebody told me to cover her cage with a blanket to keep it dark, so it was covered most of the time for about a week, and now I think it may have given her breathing problems.
