So, I got to bunnies that want nothing to do with me. They are from the shelter. They are fixed and are two years old. What

          Hi Oreo
Congratulations on your new furbabies. : )

It appears you still had a question. Are you able to post again?

In the meantime, you might like to read these articles from House Rabbit Society.

            They don’t hate you!

            When did you get them?
It can often take bunnies a long time to warm up to new people, especially if they’ve had reason to be scared of people before.

The best way to get them used to you is to spend lots of time sitting on the floor with them, and let them hop around you. Don’t try to pet them at first, but perhaps offer them a treat if they come near you. Try and avoid picking them up, as lots of bunnies hate to be picked up. It will take time, maybe weeks or months for them to get used to you, but it will be worth it in the end

Agree with Sirius&Luna, you mention them being new. To them you’re just a big scary stranger who abducted them, so it will take a bit before they get used to you. Treats are the best bribe! Hand feed them treats (veggies, maybe some pellets, every now and then a tiny piece of fruit) every day and they will start seeing you as a giant treat machine (which means that they think you’re awesome, ha).

This.  My girls would happily walk off with Jack the Bunny Ripper if he had a handful of Blueberries or Craisens.   Wouldn’t even look back at me.

It is absolutely true what the others have already said. Bunnies often need a long time to warm up to their human. They are naturally suspicious. Cats and dogs are predators, but rabbits are prey animals. Many, many other animals including humans want to have them for dinner. So they really can’t afford to be trusting of “just anybody”.

(Unless “just anybody” happens to have blueberries or craisins. Or a slice of pear. Or banana.)

Once your buns has started to accept you, they tend to like being pet. Most buns prefer to be pet on the head and ears.

It took 3 months for my bunny to enjoy me petting him. And probably a year before he started approaching me for attention! like everyone said, give it time.
